ESPN has always promoted personality over acumen. The few guys who are really good at what they do (John Clayton) they keep in the shadows.
Where did you get that stat? I've always suspected. Curious what herbstreits record is. He seems much better.
Another lousy coach is Dick Vitale. He's in the Hall of Fame for his jive talk not for knowledge of the game.
I don't like Vitale, but lousy coach? I think he was like 78-25 at Detroit. He was actually a good coach
Big shocker there, they picked against us all year long. Same with Frick and Frack down at the Patriot.
Dick Vitale was the first thing that came to my mind as well. They are "good for the game" as they encourage casual viewers to be interested. They are clowns, however, and anyone who has watched enough football or basketball, let along played these sports, is above their superficial analysis and over the top shenanigans.
My favorite Lee Corso story is when IU took a surprising lead vs tOSU n Columbus. He called a time out so the team photographer could take a pic of the scoreboard.
And I don't mind Corso. His schtick is to be entertaining--he knows that and doesn't try to be anything more that that.

when picking usc games he has been right about 16 or 17 out of of 18 times or something.
