Lets admit how lucky we are that Saquon decommited from Rutgers to come here!. Thank G-d............

Didn't his dad play at Rutgers or go to Rutgers? I thought that's why he committed and didn't wait for the big time offers.

I think Saquon is pretty happy he didn't end up at that dumpster fire. Bless those sad souls who followed through and ended up at rutgers playing in front of 15,000 people who leave in the first quarter during their shutout home game of the week.

They don't need him, they have (???) in the backfield anyway. I'm sure (???) is in the heisman race, too.

He is one of the biggest if not biggest reason, We Are, where We Are.
Saquon was between his sophomore and junior seasons when Whitehall visited Rutgers for a 7 on 7 tournament. He had never started a varsity football game. Nobody knew about him except those of us who follow the Zephyrs, and opposing JV coaches.
Flood, to his credit, liked what he saw that weekend, and offered him. He accepted, not really understanding the recruiting process.
He was 15 years old. That is the very reason I barely pay attention when a kid that young commits. They are all over the place at that age.

Saquon is a smart young lad. He was going to do the right thing for himself and family regardless if it was RU or PSU or elsewhere.

I like the kid...he embodies what PSU is all about. "Selflessness" leads to "greatness"

As many below have said, when I first read the thread title, my very first thought was..."luck had nothing to do with this", he chose Rutgers very early on in the recruiting process...how many kids make that decision too early before the better schools have offered? Credit to the former Rutgers coaching staff for identifying the talent but he was NEVER going to stay committed there unless few other options presented themself

I read an article where he stated he committed to Rutgers because it was the first offer he received and he did not think he would get any more offers.

I'll try to link the article later.

Edit: Nevermind, it's a PL article and I'm not catching hell from the board.

What a humble kid. He didn't believe he would get other offers - hard to imagine.
