The founders were pretty smart.
Minimalist federal government. Each region/state can live as it sees fit. And people can move from state to state much more easily than people can leave a country.
So, you want abortion? Fine, vote for it in your state. And truthfully, even if not in your state, this one is covered, because you can just drive to a neighboring state.
You want to pay for welfare? Fine, vote for it in your state. Pay for it in your state. No federal assistance.
You want to restrict firearms? Can't - that's covered by the second amendment.
You want legal access to drugs? Completely OK - vote for it in your state.
You want to restrict free political speech? Can't - that's covered by the first amendment.
You want big government jobs - fine, but you'll have to increase YOUR state taxes to pay for it. Texans and Floridians won't help.
You want to heal? Stop trying to force each other to live under one set of rules. But be prepared to live under the rules you vote for.
