Levis ran a 4.65 last night. Another big mobile QB that can run!*

Wow that's good news. That's an extraordinary time for someone his size. That's really exceptional and it helps explain why he got the PSU offer. I was wondering why they would recruit a pocket passer for a read option offense -- but he's demonstrating he's athletic enough to do it.

Franklin has said consistency/accuracy of throwing is really important to him and that was one of things that stood out looking at McSorley's high school film.

So I suspect the workout this weekend was about accuracy throwing and foot speed. Levis must have passed the test with flying colors.

Man there is so much talent out there. Just all the more reason not to get hung up on any particular player committing or decommitting. PSU is now going to be enough of a magnet, and Franklin casts such a wide enough net, that there may not be much dropoff between Plan A and Plan B at any position.

Can anyone translate Levis' 4.65 and 4.7 40 yard speeds into the Nike Football Rating Percentile?

His recent Nike 4.8 40 got him up to a very respectable 85 Percentile ranking.

Would be interesting to see the scale, to see what it takes to get higher percentile scores.

Seems that Kevis' 4.65 40 at PSU yesterday is a really nice jump in speed from his Nike Camp 4.8 40.

They have a free HUDL Combine App, where you can load in your Nike scores. Perhaps if someone is logged in, they could plug in Levis new PSU 40 numbers to see how much higher his percentile would jump.

Thanks in advance.

Glad to hear Levis has good speed, and he sounds like a solid addition.

Hack actually had good straight-ahead speed, but not so good in pocket presence and eluding a rush. That's a key aspect of athleticism at the QB spot; let's hope Levis has that knack or can develop it.
