My impressions. Sat in 2nd row from top of bleachers almost at mid field.

players looked to be in good shape.

couple had 30+ reps on bench press; unfortunately had trouble identifying players. why? see comments below.

farmers lift: some good efforts.
Sled: unable to see.
staggered run: unable to see.

kids clinic was great; seemed like they were having fun and it gave3 freshmen something to do.
===============================================================
sound system sucked; could not hear what Steve Jones was saying.

only had 5 events; everybody did not do each event!

setup was chaotic; events to close to one another; players blocked view; no verbal/printed explanation of event and/or weight being used.

no score was ever shown?????

hard to identify players; only had little numbers on back of jersey; some players wearing other teams colors.

86 the tire flip; two players flipping for 10 yards and struggling. Posluszny did flip for 100 yards by himself up and down the field for a total of 200 yards.

===============================================================
will continue to support because I had a tumor removed from my kidney; they, the players are doing their best; need better guidance from coaches/support staff/faculty.

overall disappointed

Thanks for the report. Good to hear from those at the event. Sounds like the psu people in charge didn't do a good job with the sound system or explanation of events/ staging. (Doesn't really surprise me. The athletic department needs a serious shake up in attention to customer service IMO- and has for years). Maybe drop a polite email to Sandy with your observations and suggestions? It may help to improve for next year. ;). The tire flip sounds like it goes against other posts about how the players looked to be in better shape than the past or was I reading that wrong?

Thanks for the write-up. I've never gone to Lift for Life, but the impression I've had from articles and pictures is that it was not a particularly polished event. That is not intended as criticism since support of the cause is most important, but it doesn't seemed to be geared towards the crowd.

I agree with the comments but I'm not sure how much support they get for this event. I know that the coaches, outside of the Strength and Conditioning coaches are not permitted to be involved. I've heard that this has to be an entirely student-led event. However, I think if they asked for support with sound system and were told about difficulties with seeing what's going on, things could be done to change that.
