Riley (and Day's) next stop will be the NFL. Riley will be gone in the next year or two. Day in 3 to 4 years. Urban is locked into the Columbus area waiting to return to OSU after Day leaves and his enemy - OSU president Drake - retires in the next year or two. Urban has already opened up a new business in the Columbus area. Take all of this to the bank !!!!!!

Urban will not be going to the NFL. Anyone that follows CF at all pretty much understands this. He's rich and doesn't need the money and at this point it's all about his ego and legacy. His absolute strong point is RECRUITING and motivating young players. Saban was a so-so NFL coach but is probably the most successful CF ever. Urban would lose his advantages/strengths in the NFL and he knows it. He's even stated in the past he's a college coach.
The word out of L.A. is they're going to empty the bank and try their best to get 1.) Franklin, 1a) Rhule, 2.) Fleck. Long ways to go as they haven't even fired Helton yet. Guess it's going to come down to the lights and glitter of L.A. and a super strong recruiting base vs the stability of their current HC positions. My guess is Rhule but who really knows ?

It's a solid ego boost for Franklin either way - USC passes on one of the best ever to (potentially) go all out for you, and a) you can accept and forever say you took a job Meyer couldn't get or b) reject it, and say you turned down a job Meyer couldn't get.

You should be writing fiction for The Watchmen. I guess OSU fans can dream. Since the last several OSU coaches had to leave in disgrace, Day leaving because of recruiting violation$$$ seems more likely. Have a nice day.

I would be shocked if Riley is not the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys next year. Jerry Jones is done with Garrett and knows now is the time with Dak and Zeke if he wants another ring before he takes a dirt nap.
Let's be honest here. If Franklin does get the job, it won't be because he won it over Meyer because of his record or coaching ability. That's a total slam dunk for Meyer. You're talking about one of the top 5 to 10 CF coaches ever. Ethics ? That's a whole different matter. It's being pretty much reported that schools are going to stay away from Meyer for one reason, and one reason only: he's a sleazeball. He's good for 5 or 6 years and then something's going to happen.

Recruiting violations ? Really ? Bigtime college programs - for the most part - don't get busted for recruiting violations. Teams like OSU, PSU, Michigan have tradition and send players to the NFL and don't have to cheat to attract HS stars. Other scandals - yes (Urban, Tressel). But it's usually the smaller, lesser programs that have a meteoric rise that get busted for recruiting.
