Mark Packer thinks we might be a surprise team this year. Anyway, nice comments from both he and not sure who was the other analyst speaking. It's nice for a change to hear PSU being mentioned in a positive light once again and actually quite frequently.

Brady Hoke was the other guy. Both said that keeping Hack off his back will be the key. Others have also predicted that Penn State could surprise, but the common theme is that we'll be only as good as our OL. I hope that this talk has motivated the OL, although the degree of poor play last year had little to do with motivation. You need to have strength, skill, and execution to succeed over an entire season... getting uber motivated only lasts a single game. So, I hope the guys used up all of their motivation in off season workouts and fall camp preparedness, so that they will have sufficient strength, skill, and execution to be a positive this fall.

Todd McShay picked Temple as his upset special and the goof Trevor Murdock (sp?) chimed in. To boot, they both like Michigan.

You can't make this crap up.

I listened off and on throughout the day yesterday. I get they were all different commentators, but they were all over the place with us. Upset specials (vs Temple) and surprise team of the year.

One of them (Packer I believe) liked YSU over Pitt.

Jack Arute always has kind words for PSU and especially JP.

Frankly, I see more pessimism from our own message boards than anywhere else. Not from everyone, but enough of us. You know who you are you depressing lot you! If I can't get excited and optimistic about PSU's chances this year, then why bother being a fan? By the way, I think our chances are quite good.
