I was at Mass this morning at Our Lady of Victory (second game of the doubleheader @step.eng69). Sitting in front of me was none other than Ball Coach Joe Mo and his family.

I said hello to him briefly, shook hands with him, said thanks a lot and wished him luck. He was cordial but I did not try to get into any kind of conversation. His kids are all school age so I'm sure they finished off the semester before they think of moving to Starkville.

Joe did a great job for us. I didn't like every single strategy without exception, but then again we could have Vince Lombardi as OC and there would be some sort of tactic that we didn't like. But considering where we used to be, and where we are now getting 40 a game, you certainly have to say he was the right man at the right time.

He was as good as advertised. Our offense has been better the last 2 years in terms of scoring than it had been previously. JoMo came and improved the offense and moved on as a head coach at an SEC team. Hard to have anything but good feelings toward him

The best decision Franklin has made so far is hiring JoeMo. Our offense helped put us back on the map of college football such that we had a great recruiting season this year. JoeMo helped us as much with our future in college football as he did helping us win football games over the past two years.

Wrong....best decision Franklin has made was accepting the offer to be HC at PSU.

Echo your sentiments FC. Vince liked a quarterback under center. It even worked on ice!

IF we had Jerry Kramer, Fuzzy Thurston, and Forrest Gregg on the O-line, then sure - go for it. Otherwise, I like the idea of making space for the offense to operate in.

Pretty sure Vince never used the 'Stand Still In The Backfield' play. Now that is one I hope we rip right out of the playbook and never see again.

Nice post FC Lion, thank you for sharing your morning. Merry Christmas.

In the early 70's, five of us were sent from the Harrisburg office to the Michael Baker engineering office in Jackson for part of the summer to complete designs for a RR bridge and several box culverts. The Jackson office boarded us at one of Jackson's best motels & restaurant.

" The guest book was signed by everyone from Elvis and the Colonel to Bob Hope, Cher and Greg Allman. Roy Rogers and Trigger signed the guest book as well. I don’t know what they did with Trigger while Rogers enjoyed his dinner. For years, Le Fleur’s was the place to see and be seen in Jackson."

"Jacksonian was conceived as a “highway hotel” which offered the luxury and service of a traditional hotel with the convenience of parking at one’s door. "

How did he look? Did you tell him I was worried about his appearance?

21 and very blustery in State College. However toasty warm in the Man Cave watching the Steelers dominate. Dad is all excited about the Iggles - let's see if he makes it to halftime!

Having two games today, both late, featuring playoff teams fighting for position - extremely good schedule job.

Sorry, l miss understood your post. Thought you were in Mississippi attending church. That's the reason I included my experience working in Jackson. Long day.

My parish as well. Steve Jones and Pat Chambers are parishioners too.

Hey step, just a quick side note...my youngest son who graduated from Maryland then went on to get his masters from Shippensburg works at Baker near BWI. He's not an engineer but a transportation planner. He started out as an intern at Baker in Harrisburg then worked his way back to Maryland. He seems to really like it! Anyway, heading up to NEPA tomorrow...how about just making sure we don't have snow for my trip back

A gym ....I have a perpetual doctors script excusing me.

Whenever I get the urge to go to the gym I simply lie down on the sofa for an hour or two, the urge slowly diminishes.

That doesn’t always work. Sometimes I need to grab some Ben & Jerry’s or some Haagen-Dazs and head for the recliner in my study / tv room. That ALWAYS works!

I learned a lot at Michael Baker, I believe they do business as Baker Engineers today.
