It's on BTN+ for those not attending in person.

How does everyone see this dual playing itself out?

So many variables with the lineup: flu, injuries, redshirts, weights that haven't been decided yet, and so on.

As Donald Rumsfeld once put it, "There are known knowns. There are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say, we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know."

Here (below) is WrestleStat's projected lineups and outcome. Their forecasts, however, often confound me. For example, they have Jordan Wood beating Kerk, despite the fact that K. majored Wood 12-2 last year and has a much better record against common opponents. Wrestlestat is good with the stats but not so great with prognostication based upon those stats. Don't see why some of the bugs can't be shaken out.

This one could be close until 197 if we’re missing RBY and Brooks. Assuming they’re not wrestling:

125 Lane Maj 0-4
133 Hines Maj 0-8
141 Lee Maj 4-8
149 BB Dec 7-8
157 Humphreys Dec 7-11
165 Edsel Dec 10-11
174 Starocci Maj 14-11
184 Burkhart Dec 14-14
197 Dean Fall 20-14
HWT Kerk Maj 24-14

Hope to be wrong at 125, 133, 157 and 184.

Hines lost today, FWIW.

That was a hell of a match, and worth catching if that's even possible. Freshman Gable Strickland, who is quickly becoming my favorite LH wrestler (and from Benton, btw), got himself cradled in the opening minute by Hines and was immediately down 6. He never went away though and clawed his way back. With under 15 seconds in the third, down a point or two, he hit a beautiful cradle on Hines (pictured below) for four and the win.

Crazy about RBY. I saw him riding a bike up hill on campus Thursday.... at Burrows and College.

Any word on if Byers is doing the PBP like he did for the Army dual?

Have a great fellas and Go State!!!

You should see guys back in the lineup today

Howdy, friends. Just settling in here at Rec for my first dual back since the 2019-2020 season. Crowd a little slow to fill in but a nice buzz in the air outside. Will provide any illness/injury updates as I get them,
more importantly, where did you / are you eating and/or drinking?

Trackwrestling lists RBY as back, but no Brook or Kerkvliet in the lineup. Pair of extra matches gonna happen as well.

Flo streaming problems seemed to have hit Byers.
2nd round of flu has hit the team recently.
125 will be Campbell or Shunk.
133 is RBY vs a 125 backup
141 is Lee going for 100 win
And that's where the feed died.

Back at it.
BB
Negron or Bearclaw at 157 vs #10
Edsell vs #27
Carter
Ball
Dean
Eddie Smith vs Wood

Blumer and the other 157 as 2 extra matches.

I see Penn State wrestling is still using Vox Populi by Thirty Seconds to Mars as its pre-match video song. That's what, year five of that?

Excited to see Campbell give it a go today!

P1: First minute feeling out period. Campbell heavy on the head here. Lots of handfighting. Lane in on a sweep single to the right. Elevates and finishes. Campbell up and out. End 1: Lane 2, Campbell 1.

P3: Campbell goes under and Lane working hard for the turn. Nearly gets it but Campbell is able to roll through. Lane with a boot in on the right side. Lane rides it out for an 11-3 major decision.

P1: RBY with a sweep single to left. Finishes for 2. Goes catch and release to make it 2-1. Sweep elbow pass single to make it 4-1. Releases again after a restart to make it 4-2. Seymour in deep on a single but RBY sprawls and eventually gets behind for 2. 6-2. END 1: RBY 6, Seymour 2.

P2: Bravo-Young takes neutral, gets a quick 2. Release. Back in on a single, doubles off to make it 10-3. Bravo-Young rides out the last minute and it's 10-3 with RT nearly locked.

P3: Seymour takes down. RBY cuts and quickly jumps over a Seymour shot to make it 12-4. Cuts, 2 more. Very, very active today for RBY. A go behind makes it 16-6. Single to left leg makes it 18-6 and the crowd is dying for a stall call. I think Seymour has been relatively active tbh. RBY cuts to 18-7. Biiiig double late to make it 20-7 then a RT points makes it 21-7.

Penn State 4, Lehigh 4.
