Lonzo Ball: RU kidding?!

Lavar Ball is in the news everyday now...just as he intended. THey are going to be the next Kardashian family, just sports related.

Danny Ainge reports that Lonzo told him he would not work out for the Celtics. Lakers only.

All the stuff that happened before could be laid essentially at the feet of Lavar Ball, but this one, IMO, reflects very poorly on Lonzo himself. Not sure I would take him at this point, even if I was the Lakers.

They also raised their asking price for shoe contract to $3B after Lakers got 2nd pick
Hope he falls in the draft and cost them money and goes to a team in a small market

I hope the Celts pick him and trade him to LA for their pick and Russell. On the other hand, I hope the kid drops like a lead balloon. He probably won't, but it would be nice to see them in the Green room as the slide continues. Personally, I'm not impressed beyond being just a good CBB player. Magic says everyone but Ingram is available.

Well, not totally a shocker. There was a time when Simmons was not going to work out for the Sixers last year. I have said it before, I'm not sure the Lakers are taking this kid either at the end of the day anyway.

The 76ers thing was because the 76ers HC knew Simmons better than anyone. I thought both "sides" saw no need for a workout :)

ESPN: Former UCLA Bruins point guard Lonzo Ball is considering working out for the Philadelphia 76ers in advance of the 2017 NBA draft on June 22, league sources told ESPN.

Ha ha. Yes, that was the Sixers spin before he eventually did agree to work out. Figures Lonzo is considering working out for Sixers if he believes Lakers are going the Fox route.

fans get too hung up on these antics, IMHO. Many of the top prospects don't work out for certain teams. Their agents often are trying to manipulate the picks. The teams don't like it, but they often see through the gamesmanship.

if the player gets selected by the team, and becomes a star, the fans quickly forget the antics. On the other hand, if the player underperforms then the fans just seem to add that to the list of things they don't like about the player.

I don't disagree and certainly the Sixers did not blink and change horses. But Lavar adds an element to the equation and has to make at least some teams think about the distractions of having this idiot quasi connected to your organization by having his kid playing for you and the influence he has at least exercised in his life to date.
