Trading a scholarship for a walk-on isn't a bad move, given the numbers crunch.
Sorry it didn't work out with Thrift, though. IIRC, he was one of Terry Smith's players at Gateway and was an intriguing prospect. Hope he lands somewhere else if he wants to keep playing.
