Loyola-Chicago

Things could play out where we get two number one seeds in one semi and a 9 and 11 in the other. I'm sure we'll here the old reseeding argument once again.

It's been fun to watch....this is what we're missing in college football. These schools getting a shot. Yeah, it doesn't happen often but it's worth it for those rare times that it does.

Sad fact is that it would happen more often in college football .... but the big dogs don't dare let that happen.

It would almost never happen in football. It’s much easier for the mid majors to make a run in basketball and that rarely happens.

Not talking about mid majors..... talking about teams ranked in the top 16 that are not the committee anointed top 4... The div 1 football playoff is the farce of all sports farces. The mid majors should have their own 16 team divisional championship..... and the power five should have the same.

Oh, I agree with you on that. I’m talking about giving a bid to a bunch of conferences that don’t deserve it.

What do you want? Declining ratings for the regular season like CBB? EVERY game counts in CFB so don't take a week off or you're probably out of the F4 for every Power 5 team. Look how popular CFB is every week of the year where there are always important match ups and only 4 teams get in.
Love the NCAA tourney but Loyola getting to the F4 in a broken bracket only reinforces the notion to the casual fan and non-fan that the regular season means Nothing in CBB.

All college football games matter except for Central Florida's.. and all the games involving teams with two or more losses and some of the conference championship games don't matter either. Bama-Auburn didn't matter.. and you know what really didn't matter? The 35ish post season games played throughout December in various locations. Worst post season of any major sport and not even close. 4 team invitational to crown a mythical champion. Nobody should do anything more like college football. Loyola Chicago, conference champ, now proving on the court they're as good as anyone. Best teams actually line up and play each other a ton in the non conference before the season.

Loyola is in because they won on the court.

PSU isn’t in the tournament because of their performance in the regular season so that would mean to me that the regular season means something.

Almost no college football games have meaning...

Well if you carry out that thought NO athletic competition means anything.

(Tell that to the kids playing their hearts out in the KU - Duke game.)

Kansas-Duke has meaning...winner advances
In college football all games outside the P5 have no meaning if you try to make the argument that every game matters and that's why we can't expand the playoff. Same for every game in which teams have 3 losses from the P5. ND once they lose 2 are irrelevant.
Were discussing meaning to "watch" the games and expanding the playoffs...do you even have a point

It's a lot better than a bunch of cheaters like Louisville going.

Loyola is in because they won on the court.

They won their bid in a tournament that every team in their conference is in. They could have been 0-28 in the regular season and still have made the tourney. If they didn’t win said tourney, they probably wouldn’t have been in. This is why people don’t watch CBB except for a couple days in March.

Really?? Wanna bet on that??

You last sentence is patently false.

Perhaps you meant to say "I don't watch CBB except for a couple of days in March"
