Gun controllers are tenacious.

It’s exhausting at times

reasoning with people who fall into
the emotional pitfall of issues like gun control

because, unfortunately, feelings recurrently transcend rationality.

Impressionable youth are
perpetually targeted with
Democrat-forged exploits and
manipulation in the tragic aftermath
of incidents like the mass shooting
in Parkland, Florida.

So it’s extremely rare and immensely refreshing that a March for Our Lives cofounder is undergoing some major self-evaluation,

admitting that maybe public policy shouldn’t be determined by uninformed teenagers.

The Daily Wire reports, “Cameron Kasky told Fox News radio on Wednesday that

he has left the organization that he helped create and that he has regrets about some of the things that he has said since he entered the public spotlight.”

Kasky, you’ll recall, was praised by leftists for going after Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) at a town hall gathering shortly after the shooting.

He now says “that was my biggest flaw.”

He’s even pursuing reconciliation. “Kasky said he would redo the conversation that he had with Rubio and that he has plans to meet with him next month where he’ll bring up how he spoke to him during the town hall event,”
according to the Wire.

Kasky went on to say:

This summer when March for Our Lives went on … tour … I met that person in Texas who’s got that semiautomatic weapon because that’s how they like to protect their family. I met the 50-some-odd-percent of women who are pro-life, even though I thought it was preposterous that a woman could be pro-life and not pro-choice at the time.

I learned that a lot of our issues politically come from a lack of understanding of other perspectives and also the fact that so often young conservatives and young liberals will go into debate, like I said earlier, trying to beat the other one as opposed to come to an agreement.

The Wire also notes that Kasky will “start a new podcast called ‘Cameron Knows Nothing,’ where he will host discussions with people on both sides of the political spectrum on current political issues.”

This is what maturity looks like — not the egregious grandstanding of ignorant adolescents like David Hogg.

And unlike Hogg,

Kasky deserves credit for his open-mindedness

— even if the media will uplift
only one of them as a role model.
