mark emmert is "profoundly concerned" about the lack of trust the public has in the NCAA.

Disagree. The turning point is paying players, and maybe the lack of penalties for UNC.

Outside of this fanbase, there are really only two camps of people, those who think we got what we deserved or deserved worse still and those who are apathetic and just don't care. There might be some individuals who agree we got screwed, but it is in no way a large group.
Not true. I know LOTS of WVU fans who believe Joe and PSU got screwed, and are angry at NCAA for it.

Even if college sports was an honest game, it's decline is inevitable. CTE, the absurd cost of attending brick and mortar institutions, the inevitable rise of more and more quality on-line educational opportunities- the entire "college experience" is going to disappear for most students along with college sports.

Yes, there may always be a Harvard- but a lot of schools are going to disappear, along with the NCAA

Emmert's main concern is his own future. How a moron like him managed to get a seven figure salary is a mystery.
It reminds me of the movie "Casino" where they needed a clean patsie to serve as the ceremonial front for the mob operation. Emmert is that patsie. He's there (much like Goodell in the NFL) to justify, enable and protect a money-making cartel. That's how he got a seven-figure salary.

See the link below. From the article:

"WASHINGTON, D.C. -- NCAA president Mark Emmert met with a pair of influential senators Tuesday to continue his organization's uphill battle to maintain control over the future of college sports.

Emmert has spent a large amount of his time in the nation's capital in the latter half of 2019. He said last week that the vast majority of his workload is now focused on navigating a minefield of legal and legislative challenges to what he calls the "collegiate model" of sports.

Those various challenges are all attempts to reform a system that -- NCAA stakeholders and the general public both agree -- has outgrown its amateur roots and needs to create new ways for athletes to share in the fruits of a multi-billion dollar industry. Amid deteriorating public confidence in the NCAA and Emmert's ability to fix their own problems, the longtime president is looking for help from a group that the NCAA has previously tried hard to avoid: federal lawmakers.

During a panel discussion at the Aspen Institute Tuesday, Emmert said he was "profoundly concerned" about the lack of trust the public has in the NCAA. He disagreed with the notion that going to Congress was a last resort, but said "It's an appropriate time given where we are on the issue.""

emmert continues to arrange deck chairs on the Titanic.

80 percent of the couple hundred or so I have heard speak about it.

You've spoken with several hundred WVU fans about the sandusky scandal?

That is too bad for marky, he has only himself to blame for where he has led the ncaa.
When you are the chief executive of the organization, and you break it, then you own all the results of your decisions. He got it where it is step by step. One bad decision after another.

I swear if i ever meet that c*^t in public, I would give him the dropkick.. and if he gets back up, ill give him the stone cold stunner!

I'm a big fan of Band of Brothers. So much so I can recite many of the lines. This reminds me of the scene where Easy Company is doing a night march and Randleman asks Lt. Winters why Lt. Sobel hates them so much. Winters replies, "Lt. Sobel does not hate Easy Company, Randleman, he just hates you."

When the history of the death of the NCAA is written, a major turning point will be what they did to PSU. Their facially-fraudulent attack on us, combined with their wimpy failure vis a vis UNC, showed thinking people all they need to know about the worthlessness of Emmert's org.
Totally agree. Go after Penn State for a legal situation completely out of the NCAA jurisdiction, then let UNC completely off the hook for blatant academic cheating which is right in the NCAA jurisdiction. Not to mention the OSU and MSU situations which were clearly covered up by the Universities. The NCAA is a joke that needs to end

The NCAA is a joke. They went after PSU for a legal matter completely outside of NCAA jurisdiction then did nothing about UNC when they were clearly cheating academically which is what I thought the NCAA was all about. Not to mention the silence about OSU and MSU sex scandals which were without a doubt covered up by the universities. After all was said and done I must say the PSU board was probably the most inept group of individuals to ever occupy such positions. I often wonder is something more was going on and Joe was used as the scapegoat to misdirect. Why second mile was let off the hook never made sense to me. But as many have said never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity which I believe was the case with the PSU board.
