Matt Lee, Nick and Joe’s brother, just won the Indiana Evansville Semistate tournament with wins in the 1st round (24-9 TF), QF (12-4 MD), SF (Fall in 51 seconds) and Finals (17-6 MD). Matt is undefeated at 37-0 and will advance to the State finals next week. Matt, a Junior, is ranked #1 at 145 lbs. in Indiana and is listed as #16 in Intermat’s H.S. rankings. Matt didn't impress me last year, but he seems to have taken a big step forward this year. There must be something in that Lee DNA.

Any chance he goes the Nick, Joe Lee route and comes early and home schools?

I thought I read somewhere a while back that Nick thought Matt was going to be the best of the three. Do we have any worries he won't follow his big bros to state college?

Well, nothing can bring me down from last night's high for a while.

Last year's dual was one for the ages and without. Nolf we all knew the margin for error was razor thin. The high I got from Bo's last second bonus, Cassar's coming out party, and Nick managing Snyder will be hard to top, ever!

That said we excelled on so many fronts for this year's dual, I loved the feeling of calm confidence after RBY and Nick squeezed the life out of that arena. I was able to sit back and really enjoy each subsequent match so much more.

This year I didn't even crap my pants.

The Lee Fam enjoying a nice weekend :)

I would welcome any Lees from that family if they are at all like Nick. I’ve said it before - in looks and old school mannerisms, Nick reminds me of Johnny Unitas. Same haircut most of the time, aw shucks personality and calm demeanor masking an obviously burning will to win and compete. Nick looks like you could plop him the WWII news reels and he’d fit right in. A perfect odd couple roommate situation would probably be him and Cassar. That would be hilarious to see. Antknee’s hair care products would take up 93% of the bathroom shelf.

As psubluinTx said about his win on Friday:

“Especially the way he did it -- patient, methodical, unrattled. Man that bodes well for the upcoming tourneys!”

Nick just goes to work out there.

Feel like Joe Lee is flying under the radar in the room a little, but is going to be an absolute terror on the mat for us. Thought Nick’s one interview was funny when he said he tries staying away from Joe in the room now
Well, Joe probably outweighs Nick by 20+ pounds, right?

I'm sure Nick said it tongue in cheek. As a little brother I can attest, you dont care how small you are or outmuscled. You are ALWAYS up to accept the challenge your big bro put out there no matter the odds against you. Besides, I never was against evening the odds a bit. I picked up rakes, shovels....whatever I could reach to save myself from a complete ass whoopin'...

And yes, I know Joe is younger. Hes bigger though, so it all applies here.. lol

Nick reminds me of a former freshman 141 and if his career plays out the same, I think the PSU faithful with be very happy but even if they don't have somewhat identical careers I'll still be happy. Nick attacks.

Zain. I'm talking about Zain guys.

I never thought I'd use the word slick in the same sentence as Nick Lee but against Storr he looked slick and fluid. A week later, his normal unrelenting pressure broke McKenna. Hell, sign the whole family. Last week we weighed in a 106 lbs, for a high school team; most wrestling moms are tougher then their sons, make her an offer to sure up the light weights. We are lucky to have the Lee family in the room.

Zain is one for the ages but imagine what Nick could have done going forward with a red shirt year this year.

We’ll get opportunities to see baby Ruth vs Starocci and or Brooks
Not expecting him to but if Starocci drops for the postseason, we might see it at Hershey in March. And it won't be good news for the Lehigh recruit.

IF Conel comes in next season at 197, which is entirely possible since both parties have already communicated, Michael Beard will get yet another season to improve. That is spine-chilling for the future wrestler's at the 197 lb. weight class. With Aaron Brooks locked in at 184 for at least 3 NCAA seasons, "AirBnB" will be a terrifying duo at 184 and 197.

A drive by from a poster with a Serious history of insider info, Yowzaaa! What’s up with Berge while you’re here Ames?

Wait... Brooks 3 years? interesting.

Sounds like 2024 is a real focus for the Brooks family.

Beard would be a better option/higher placer than Conel. Rather let Beard wrestle and hold onto that RS flexibility for future years.

Now, if you're telling me that Conel could wrestle 125...

best guy goes. Coming off shoulder surgery, his comeback would be in doubt regardless...ask raptor

What the slush fund wants....the slush fund gets

Agree, how the hell did Conel go from “ the guy who knocked Moore into consi’s and was intregal part of PSU winning nationals” too being worthy of donning Blue and White. No offense to the man, but cmon guys, really??

But isn’t a lit match for meeting something not yet on fire? And if we already have a fire, wouldn’t we want to light something bigger than a match? Just wondering. :)

he did finish 3rd that year .... which is pretty darn good

With the four major recruits deferring enrollment this season, do not expect them to start next season either.
We all care about the here and now, but they
are all going to redshirt and be primed for an outstanding 2021 NCAA season.

Why would Brooks RS and then only wrestle 3 years? This is all very confusing.
