Interesting that Holland would be on the Mackey watch list. Must be a light year for returning TE talent. I don't expect Holland to even win the starting TE job.............
Whereas McGovern may have just a good a chance as any Center in college football to win the Remington Trophy. That is, if he stays at Center..........

Penn State football added two more nominations to preseason watch lists.
Following consecutive 11-win seasons, there are high expectations for Penn State football in 2018. With several veterans returning, it’s no surprise that the preseason award watch lists that are coming out contain the names of Nittany Lions.
In the most recent announcement, tight end Jonathan Holland and center Connor McGovern both earned honors.
Holland is on the preseason watch list for the Mackey Award, given annually to the most outstanding collegiate tight end. McGovern is up for the Remington Trophy, awarded each year to the most outstanding center.
Sitting behind star tight end Mike Gesicki on the depth chart the last two seasons, Holland has a chance in 2018 to show off his talent. He’s penciled in as the starting tight end for the Nittany Lions heading into camp.
Over the last two years, Holland has seen the majority of his time on special teams. He appeared in 12 games in each of the past two seasons. He was used very little outside of special teams and has just three career catches for 16 yards.
McGovern was a key starter on the offensive line last year after moving to the center position before the start of the season. He played for the Nittany Lions in 2016 as an offensive guard. He was a key to Penn State’s offense in 2017 and will be a leader up front in 2018.
