McHenry to ScUM according to FLO

Keep your eyes on Brock McMillen from Glendale. Took 2nd place as a freshman this year in AA at Hershey and will grow. He's going at Flo Nationals for Young Guns WC. I've seen this kid and he is something special.
I liked him too, want to see how he looks next year.

But "he will grow" into what? He's a FR 113. Does he remain a lightweight? Or get bigger -- Jason was a FR 106.

106 AA champ Steen also looked really good.

Well, I'm not sure exactly. He's taller than the normal 113 pounder, and Coach Dubler I think is planning to go up to 120 next season with him. He seems to get better in leaps...he'll go on one level, then months later, he makes a jump. That kind of thing. The caveat here is that he wrestles for a tiny, tiny school, but of course he is at Young Guns also. Now, watch him go at 138 next season after a growth spurt, lol.

did Cael go see Desanto because he already knew McHenry was doing to Michigan? hmmmm

I think Cael talked to DeSanto as a courtesy. Good wrestler, PA kid, looks good to talk to DeSanto. I think the only way DeSanto comes to PSU is if he agrees to walkon. Can't imagine there is much money available for new lightweights.

I like to first mention my disdain for Michigan, of all Big Ten teams I have more disregard for the Wolvereens than any other program including Ohio State. I personally know a few grads of UM and they just have an air that their school if more intellectual and refined than Penn State.
With that being noted I would like to correct the statement about 1.5 championships since 1948. That would be very incorrect. I knew their hockey team has been very good over the years so I researched the statement.
Michagan has won 28 championships since 1948.Mostly in hockey and gymnastics.

That first paragraph made me chuckle. Do as I say not as I do at it's finest. Fully prepared for the 'when we do it there is a reason and it's justified' response.

Do any of your posts contribute to anything above the level of nonsensical? I want to believe it is intentional, but I am beginning to wonder if this your bar.

I think in state tuition may play a part in this---just a guess

I could see DeSanto walking on at PSU, much like Verkleeren did. If Nick Lee redshirted this year (a la Zain), DeSanto could hold down 141. It's an interesting situation for sure.

Even if he did walk-on and wrestled at 141 next year......it would be a big disservice to someone. Nick Lee comes back along with Breske, Teasdale, RBY, Verk and Berge.....that is seven guys for 5 weights.....who gets sat on the bench?.......the guy you just brought in with two years left....or all the commits you brought in with the understanding they were wanted and in your plans. If I was a recruit or parent of a recruit and you bring in another guy in an already crowded weight situation ....I think you would be sending a very negative message to future recruits and their families. Not a good idea AT ALL in my mind.

Nit in all honesty it is in response to some of the things that I read on here. Some posters here take their jabs and don't think they are doing anything like they do on HR, yet it is the same. I have found this board to be more subtle but just as snarky with a huge dose of 'we do no wrong' mixed in. When wrestling starts tomorrow maybe I can contribute something of substance, maybe not. Until then the faithful of this board can continue to cast aspersions at me. I have watched the World teams come in this week and I am excited for some wrestling.

Honest question to you because you are pretty objective. In that first paragraph where the complaint is about Michigan looking down their nose at PSU resemble in any form how PSU fans in general look down at Iowa? In a general nature because there are extremes in all fan bases.

I general, they're are.

There was a reason the Big10 was only 7 - 1 during the Bowl season. Bless the sport of Bo.

No matter their record......everyone knows Harbaugh is the best at "picking" a winner. I know.....low hanging fruit. Insert GIf here :)

Should have been spirit, and no idea why that auto corrected.

It may have been low hanging, but some things maintain chewy substance from childhood to adulthood.
