Kudos to Matt Brown for becoming a National Champion; a class act who will be sorely missed next year.

I was most impressed with McIntosh this year. I thought he significantly improved his mat skills this year and showed he is as good as anyone in his weight class by beating Snyder at the B1G tournament and Cox at the national tournament. When he lost a tough match to Hartmann he could have packed it in, but seriously took his role as one of the leaders of this team to storm back and take 3rd. A very gutsy performance. I also like his post match interviews where he always gives props to his opponent. He is a class act in many different ways and this team will be fortunate to have him as their leader next year. Great job Morgan!

He beat some great wrestlers!

Agree Lion, great comments! McIntosh has really become a complete wrestler. Still would like to see him at 184 for his senior year although that may not be best for the team.

Jefe, last I heard, McIntosh doesn't cut any weight to make 197. Granted, it's a big drop, but Gabe Dean is very similar build/height and he makes 184. Mac would be a more athletic version of Dean at 184 and dominate the weight class, imo. At 197, he is definitely a title threat, but more prone to the occasional loss.

I agree Tiger. I don't know if he was wrestling 197 to help the team, or if he didn't want to, or couldn't cut to 184. At 197 I see him as no better than even with Cox, Hartmann, and Snyder next season. If he can get to 184 comfortably, I see him as a clear favorite to win, and a big bonus point contributor. Ohio State had 3 freshman finish ahead of McIntosh who scored 14.5 team points in the 2015 tournament(Nathan Tomasello 24.5, Bo Jordan 19.5, Kyle Snyder 18). Matt Brown scored 22 to lead PSU and the next largest PSU scorer after McIntosh was Gulibon with 11.

NCAA 2015 Point Table

The entire point is that he can't get to 184 comfortably for a folkstyle season, if at all. Three years ago he walked around in the 210-215 range. In 2013 he wrested freestyle 96 kg (211 lb), not 84 kg (185 lb). Here he is against Tucker Lane, who wrestled 285 for Nebraska.

He bulked up. He's not going down.
