McQuery ever asked about "PSU Cover Up"?

After reading the junk spewed by Herbstreith and Desmond, I was wondering...

Now that the lawsuits have been settled, has anyone had an interview with Mike McQ about his opinion on Joe, a cover-up (?), and how PSU handled JS during 2001 and beyond? I'd love to have him vindicate the program (and I'm assuming that McQ would back the assertion that Joe took it up the chain and never had any intention of hiding or covering for anyone)... and also calling out the specific PSU and Second Mile personnel who "should have done more"...

I'd like to see something done... the negativity and filth still being spread by the MSM about PSU's role in the JS scandal is downright depressing...

  • first, the lawsuits aren't settled. There is, at least, the Paterno suit and the criminal trials of Curley and Schultz. There is also the Spanier suit. Point is, these people are really not free to talk.
  • MM always said that Joe was upfront with him and followed up. I've never heard MM even hint at the notion of anyone telling him to shut up or not call anyone else outside of PSU.
  • MM won but his award will surely be challenged via appeal. They can tie this up for three or four more years, if they want. Point is, they'll probably tell MM they won't appeal if he takes something less than the $12m awarded. BUT, this will come with a strict non-disclosure which will prevent MM from telling his side of the story.
Bottom line is, don't expect any revelations from MM anytime soon.

I am 100% sure that MM's attorney has told Mike to not comment on anything to anybody. Only thing Mike talking can do is get him sued or lose the appeal.

There hasn't been a discussion thread about the scandal since yesterday and the day before that etc, going back to 2011. When are you people going to get a life?

This was brought up by me due to another thread which had the transcript of remarks which Herbsreit and Howard made during the morning broadcast of the BIG championship. I am sick of the constant scarlet letter this topic brings and adheres to our university and our football team. I do not believe that Joe had an inkling that something this sinister was going on with JS. Call me nieve. But it would be great if someone like McQ could help set the narrative straight. Especially walking away with the payday he received

It has occurred to me that giving a few million $ to MM is like giving a lifetime whiskey voucher to a drunk. Isn't he a bit of a gambler?
If I was an attorney, I'd sign him up for "wine of the month club" and closely monitor his "cyber presence". But that's just me.

Mike has always stated that he loved Joe, is fiercely protective of him, and that Joe did the right thing. So there's that...........
I believe he feels that Old Main and by extent - Second Mile are harboring something more evil. That I just don't know - I can't give these people credit for anything more awful than corruption, self-dealing and money laundering. Without digging into TSM, who the hell knows?

I too would like "something done" - but our OAG shut down the TSM investigation that Bruce Castor put into motion and destroyed files the day he left office - SO WHO THE HELL CAN WE TRUST NOW?

Franky "Porn Fingers" Fina and his fellow gunslingers used Mike to carry out an assassination via a PA grand jury presentment. But instead of with sniper precision - they torched the place. Pennsylvania's presentment system bypasses many of the procedural protections provided by federal criminal law. It does not protect innocent witnesses, nor does it provide an opportunity for witnesses mentioned by name to file any kind of legal response. Naming Joe more than implied he had committed a crime as far as the (sports) media was concerned.

Mike and Joe, along with Tim, Gary & Graham were at ground zero and the nuclear fallout spread out across the commonwealth.

Penn State's goose was being cooked all along down in Harrisburg by porn-addled, swaggering, preening prosecutors and there wasn't a damned thing anyone could have done about it - who expects the OAG to target your university president as a trophy kill, especially when the person being investigated by the grand jury was no longer employed at PSU (for years) and the alleged crimes all had their roots over at Second Mile with their minor clients by their executive director?

These cases are still tied up in appeals - I have no idea how this works, but it must be a special kind of hellish limbo to be in. If only Fap Fina had just skipped right along the reporting chain to Dr. Jack Raykovitz & his wife and charged them - everyone would have won - and the epic cost to so many lives, livelihoods & the community.......sigh.

I think we should start 10 more Scandal threads that overshine our great performance and first outright Big Ten Championship in more than 20 years, thereby showing the nation how screwed up and psychotic the fringe element of our fan base is.

Yeah, good idea. More McQueary/Sandusky threads, this whole "championship football team" thing is overrated.

How about you decide what you want to talk about, and those of us with whom you've torched your cred will go on ignoring you. Meanwhile, adults are talking here. STFU.

Nobody forced you to open the thread, sounds like you are an obsessed freak.

Stay on topic or get off the thread

I can't wait to meet you someday, and laugh in your face, you phony old twit. We have a few mutual friends who I can name by name, here in state college, they don't think so highly of you either.

If they are "mutual friends" who don't think highly of demlion, they're rats. Nice to his face, stabbing him in the back. I'll take a stand up guy every time over a cheese eating rat.

You want to support a "grown man" who writes "STFU" and acts like a child, that's on you.

Dude, this past weekend proved more than ever that our on-field performance will always be denigrated until our off-field issues are dealt with appropriately.

Writing threads about Mike McQueary afterwards isn't helping. Not in any way. Neither is writing "STFU" to people who feel otherwise.

I sense with your posts that you are being cautious and pro-active on the margins, but this is a change from your previous persona. I try to interpret your remarks as being guarded and yet hopeful, because if you were not hopeful you would not continue to use your old point of view to interpret the posts of others.

I do wish, however, that as now-insider you could throw us a bone every once in a while that would suggest to us that in our non-football world, not all is lost.

I've gone beyond wishing and even offered whiskey. Good whiskey! At the right time of course.:)

And by the way Guns if you're reading this....STFU

Your comment wasn't exactly mature, either. You have a problem with him, fine. But why bring "mutual friends" into it?

The guy has attacked and attacked and attacked me, from day one, and I didn't start one god damn bit of it. I offered him an olive branch and he told attacked me again.

Sorry, but the one acting like a child is him. He does not have the copyright to some sort of organized protest: Many people feel the same way, the difference is, we like to appreciate the sports, rather than to dedicate using the boards as a pulpit for some kind of run at office, which won't happen for him anyway.
This can go on and on. We will have to agree to disagree on this one. Take care.

I didn't write them, but apparently many of us feel similarly disjointed right now.

I don't know if "all is lost".....but we are surely a hell of a lot further behind than we were 5 years ago

Alas
