I've never called Michigan this, but have seen it on the board, and it fits the post...

Mich (or at least Cliff Keen WC) has had quite a few athletes represent other countries overseas.

I think they had a Bulgarian for a bit, who's name slips me and I can't find currently.

Obviously I think this is great fo those wrestlers, CKWC, and the countries. It is an advantage to have those ties and athletes funded and training to continentals/worlds.

Do you think they recruit kids that have these possibilities with a purpose? Or are they just doing an awesome job with ties and connections to get their guys training/funded to that level?

Which one came first?

Rule #1: Can’t win NCAA titles, can’t wrestle for USA.

Boris Novachkov was the name I was looking for, and he was at Cal Poly, Illinois RTC, and now at California RTC. I was mistaken, there. Still, the number is enough to chatter about in the off-season.

I wouldn't call it a loophole, but it's cool to see US NCAA stars find a way to compete overseas in my opinion. Then the US gains ties with those nations, they come over to train, or we go over there to train, and it only makes US stronger.

Habat quite possibly, since he completed his NCAA eligibility at Edinboro.

The rest were high end HS recruits from Big Ten Land. (Or in Micic's case, a former high end recruit who was ready to get out of NW.) Probably not recruited for this purpose but an opportunity once there.
