Noticed "Mini Mart" is still in the league. Was thinking, who is the worst MLB player you ever saw. For me, as bad as "mini mart" is I remember the immortal Phillie, Sloppy Joe Koppe. Had all five tools, couldn't hit, field, run, throw and of course no power. Being a Phillies fan starting in the 50's many from which to choose.

Pirates had the O'Brien twins in the 50's, Johnny and Eddie.
Same 5 tools.

Joe Cowley had as bad a few starts as humanly possible for the Phillies

Martinez was a one time Rule 5 pick for the Phillies. It amazed me they kept him around as long as they did. Maybe they were happy to have a cheap defensive replacement because they definitely didn't keep him around because of his bat.

If you remember Joe Koppe then you surely remember SS Chico Fernandez, before Koppe's time.

Then you should probably remember Sparky Anderson whom I believe they also got from the Dodgers. Sparky did go on to have a much better career in a different role.
Though they were both great fielders, Bobby Wine and Ruben Amaro could also hit their weight.

Dick Stuart was playing first base for the Phillies, and his glove literally fell apart during a game. Bill Campbell wondered how to fix Stuart's glove and Ashburn said, 'Dick Stuart needs a welder to fix that glove.'

I always thought Dale Berra was pretty bad. Not sure how he lasted as long as he did.

Michael Martinez was the most versatile person that could play every position and suck at all of them equally. He must be a really good clubhouse guy while hitting basically like a pitcher.

has been in the majors parts of the last 7 years. ml average of .200 in 545 abs. plays because of his versatility and good defense.
