I can’t believe that the student union doesn’t run buses to big games that are relatively close by. Seems like it would be easy to fill a few buses for a game like Michigan.

I’m sure liability is an issue but it’s been done before. What’s the issue?

Any enterprising individuals based in State College willing to run a turnaround trip? It’s a 6 hour drive between the two cities and it would seem like an easy one day trip when compared to the 11 hours it took for The B1G in Indy.

Most likely getting tickets.

I’m sure 50 students would be able to get tickets. I just can’t believe there are no buses running. Even for non-students. My daughter is trying to get out there to support the team and she’s frustrated she can’t get a ride.

What makes you so sure? I'm pretty sure that there aren't student tickets for this game and, unless things have changed drastically recently, you need a ton of Nittany Lion Club points in order to get a ticket.

Lack of interest? I don't think the student section was ever even half full for the Iowa game. I get that the weather sucked, but you still go and give them support, It was obvious at the half on Saturday that after two close losses half the student section skipped a crucial game on a rainy crappy day in Happy Valley.

The attendance is listed at 105,244 but I doubt there was 90k in the stadium. I'd be lying if I said, I wasn't dreading it walking into the stadium on Saturday... especially after giving up two Safeties in the first half!

TV Ratings were great tho... so I guess that's the flip side to having every game televised to a national audience. Could be worse I guess.

Per GoPSUSports Michigan Game Notes:
    • Penn State’s game against Iowa in Week 9 delivered a 1 .8 overnight, cable’s highest-rated game in the last afternoon time slot this season and up 157% from the same game window last year .

    • Penn State’s game against Ohio State in Week 5 is the most-watched college football game of the season (as of ratings announced through Week 8) .

    • The game’s average viewership of nearly 9 .2 million was ABC’s highest regular-season audience since its 2017 Kickoff Weekend record-breaking audience for Florida State vs . Alabama (56 games prior) and ranks in the top five most-watched September games on ABC in the last decade .

Be cool to have a PSU BWI bus trip. Stop in Chicago for some dining along the way.

Has your daughter checked out Penn State’s Zimride site? There may be students on there looking to carpool.

9,300 and change students (out of ~20k). ~60k total thru the gates (though it looked, and especially sounded, a lot better).

I agree.. the crowd and weather had a bite to it. Penn State fans went from woe is me VS Michigan State, sleeping through the entirety of the game to coming out VS Iowa, taking their licks and making mistakes early... Then winning the game the Penn State way, with dominating defense that comes through just at the right time.
