Michigan fan with a question

Especially if Clifford is done. Clifford was slicing up this defense

He had just got stopped. He threw two early interceptions, one a bad 50/50 ball. Iowa's QB bailed him out on next series, but found a way to settle down mostly.

We will never know, what would have happened, since adjustments always happen heading into a 2nd half.

Hope Clifford isn't done.

Pretty sure Clifford has bruised ribs from way he was gingerly walking and holding side while walking on sideline. If so, he's done for day - it's just really painful and you can't execute a throwing motion.
Ribs seem to be the general opinion. The question is are they bruised or fractured ?

He didn't get stopped. The drive he was injured on resulted in a FG. PSU scored 17 points in 18 minutes with Clifford. He passed for 150 yards in 1.25 quarters. Even if Iowa made adjustments that cut his production in half from that point on he still would have thrown for 350 yards and PSU would have scored another 22 points (extrapolating obviously).

Pardon me.

Oh, I thought the goal is a touchdown. Didn't Penn State stop Iowa after the first interception?

Solid game by Penn State defense, up until Iowa’s last two scoring drives.

Maybe I have watched too many Iowa games, but I think the 4th down stop was key for Iowa.

James Franklin should have flipped the field and put the game back on his defense deep in Iowa territory.

There was plenty of time left.

Well, that's football.

If you dont think that Clifford would have scored at least 6 more points in the remaining 2.5 quarters, idk what to tell you.

Clifford did throw a horrible early pic, but luckily your offense moved backward against our D. He threw another pic that essentially served as a punt - nothing big. He also put 17 points on the board in 1.5 quarters and more yardage than your vaunted defense has given up per game against your week schedule.
Our backup QB is absolutely horrible because we had 3 QBs portal out - our real backup is starting for an undefeated Kentucky team right now. You played against a D2 quarterback... a QB with a pulse and this is not a game

Scoring points is the goal. A drive that scores points is a successful drive. A TD drive is more successful than a FG drive, but they are both successful drives.
