Michigan dual on Feb 7 is postponed. All University of Michigan athletics are done for 2 weeks

Have you seen official notice of cancellation?
I ask because I haven't, and Feb 7 is outside (barely) of the "up to 14 day shutdown" period that starts today.

Michigan’s website lists it as postponed.

and now ours does also....

The weekend of Feb 6th both Rutgers and MSU are at Indiana for a Quad. Maybe we could stop by Fri night on our way to Wisconsin, but would MSU and/or Rutgers want to wrestle 4 times in a weekend.

Oddly, Michigan and Purdue MBB played on Friday despite one of Purdue's top players testing positive the day prior.

How does the whole AD get shut down? What, did they have an administrator/coach meeting in the middle of a pandemic where someone tested positive just afterward? Genius.

I have a hunch ...

my hunch is the President is pissed that the hoops game was played Friday night and is punishing the entire athletic department

I believe they were shut down by the State Health Dept after one or more positive tests of one of the new variants of Covid, which is believed to be much more contagious. Decision was announced Sat. Jan 23

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Under a Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) decision made Saturday (Jan. 23), the University of Michigan Athletic Department will immediately pause athletic activities in all sports, including games, team and individual training sessions, until further notice and up to 14 days.

While U-M has worked diligently on testing and reporting within state and Big Ten Conference guidelines, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is mandating a more aggressive strategy for this B.1.1.7 variant, which exceeds current program efforts designed around the standard form of the virus.
The mandate follows positive test results for the SAR-CoV-2 B.1.1.7 variant virus infections from several individuals linked to the U-M Athletic Department through its diligent testing regiment. The B.1.1.7 variant is thought to be approximately 50 percent more transmissible than the standard form of the virus, leading to faster spread of the virus, potentially increased numbers of cases, and additional hospitalizations and deaths.

Saw where 5 of the 6 cases in the state of the UK variant were on campus

Read today, and can't find the article, that the shutdown was a suggestion and not a mandate. The school interpreted it as a mandate. There may be some wiggle room. There is a group of student athletes making an appeal.

What's the word on the PSU vs Wisconsin match for Feb 7 which is scheduled for Ann Arbor? I can't see UM allowing that to happen under these circumstances. Looked for some sort of rescheduling of the wresting match location, but have not seen anything. GoPSUSports still show it in Ann Arbor. Anyone have more info on this?

Cael discussed this in his press conference yesterday. There is a thread with a link to his presser on this board if you wanna listen to it. He said PSU is working with Wisconsin to figure out where this dual could be held next weekend but nothing is finalized yet.

If they were to try and have it at Wisconsin, Sunday would be only option as other teams at Wisconsin have events on Friday and Saturday.

I refuse to believe that anything shutdown related from the University of Michigan is legit since everyone knows they cancelled their football game with tOhio State in 2020 because tOhio State was gonna beat them so bad. Ryan Day was about to do some "Because I couldn't go for 3" Hayes action against Harbaugh.
