Midlands preview

Huh? You're questioning tOSU? Midlands isn't on their schedule. Myles Martin is just a badass that won't be denied the opportunity to wrestle the best. Pletcher is trying to get matches at 141.

MyMar wrestles the best whilst BoJo avoids Zahid for the third time. Journeyman. CKLV. Now Midlands. He has yet to wrestle a ranked opponent this season.

He's too busy working on deadlifts to wrestle anyone.

Clark is registered.

Ohio State, other than Pletcher and Martin, is not. Real shame, especially given the field at 133. Too long of a bus ride?

Tournament still too full for Wreck Hall, despite Ohio State mostly skipping it.
Too full for Mark Hall. Wonder what the Midlands' response would have been if on Sunday morning Cael had called and said, "hey, my guys missed their tournament today and I was wondering if I could still get my team entered into the Midlands tournament next week?"

Richie Lewis and Max Rohskopf are also listed, so take Clark's registration with a grain of salt.

Agree, unlikely Clark wrestles at Midlands. From everything I have read, he may not be ready go until late in the season.

Clark could go but won't is what I have heard. He would like to but the people making the decisions are not willing to risk it. Error on side of caution is the best approach at this time. I really thought Stoll would go here but I hear it is not likely.

"We are full, Coach Sanderson. However, we could certainly make an exception if you were to sign this agreement to attend every year."

I think that particular response might receive the same look and tone Pyles had to endure when Cael was asking Pyles about his specific plan.

I also do not believe there would be any trades made. If Penn State was all of a sudden interested in competing at the Midlands I am pretty certain the Midlands committee would suddenly find they had extra room at the inn, no questions ask.

With Clark and Stoll out, Iowa's Midlands streak may be in jeopardy. Not exactly sure how many consecutive years they have won, but it's been a while; maybe back to Brands first year as head coach.

Three straight years. They skipped in 2012-13 (Midlands 50), when they had to wrestle Ohio State the following weekend (and the previous year, they had gotten their clock cleaned by Ohio State).

The last time they competed at Midlands and failed to win was Midlands 48 (2010-11 season), when the top three was Missouri (103.5), Wisconsin (95.5), and Lehigh (93), and Iowa finished fourth with 91. That was also the year they skipped National Duals despite the event being held right up I-380 from Iowa City in Cedar Falls.

Guess who else isn't going to Midlands.

Hint: at this rate his dad will be correct about the #16 seed at nationals.

One McRib, please, and a side of (weak) sauce.
