Call me a contrarian and a party pooper with what I am about to say. It's good that the HWC is expanding beyond their four home bred light weights by picking up a couple Gophers and Evans. I think it's healthy to bring in fresh ideas and methods. That said, I'm not sure these three add that much to the mix over what the Hawkeyes can bring to the mat on an undergraduate level. I'd want Sorenson to be wrestling a Metcalf-type (and he is for the moment), or Meyer/Brooks to be wrestling a DT-type. Multiple time national champ type of guys. In my opinion, the guys in the Iowa room today are roughly on par with the three new guys coming into the HWC room. Where's the payback for Iowa here?

I agree with all of this, except that Evans and the Dardanes hardly bring in fresh ideas and methods. Evans is 1 year removed from Iowa, and the twins' style is almost identical to a Hawk. Importing from outside the Gable tree would be more helpful.

BTW, it's looking like Garrett is headed to Tempe.

Evans brings them offensive scoring abilities. You know the ones that he clearly demonstrated during his collegiate career. With him and Morningstar rolling around in the room, ole Tom will not have to bring in the blower this summer to help the paint dry when they repaint the practice room pink, I mean orange.
