Seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Worked in one of the most high pressure jobs around, and I am sure he took it very seriously, yet not too serious. A guy that truly enjoyed life. Gone far too soon.
Sucks, the guy brought some levity to the whole college football experience, often reminding us that at the end of the day it’s a game played by 18-23 year olds.
One thing unique about him, one of many, was that despite helping to pioneer a finesse type offense, he was always talking about mental and physical toughness. If his team didn’t perform well or when asked what they needed to do better, it was about being tougher, which is the core of the game no matter the system one runs.

Would love to see a video of one of his recruiting trips. How did he talk to recruits? Or their families? What life changing advice did he give the kids?

Real loss for sports in general. In an industry where many prominent personalities could be described as some form of beige he was a welcome, and entertaining, bit of neon.
