Mike wise we now know jvp knew 76 bc recent court docs

Yep people have short attention spans and cannot think without help of subject line or narrative made for them

Just from yesterday
1. Two temple grads wear Joe was framed. Sandusky was innocent. Internet goes nuts saying it is penn state fans. C'mon use some common sense
2. Penn state kneels when coming onto the field. Guy claims the kneeled and turned back during national anthem. Internet buys it hook line and sinker

The anti-PSU people like to say the '76 story comes from court documents in order to make it sound legit. Meanwhile it is just a rehash of a story told by a young man who needed to establish a Penn State liability to collect his millions and the story doesn't pass the sniff test. He's 14, at Penn State for a football camp, gets molested by Sandusky, doesn't tell the police, his parents, a camp counselor or coach, but runs into Paterno in a hallway, tells him, gets no satisfaction and then, sits on it for 35 years when there is money on the table.

And no one bothers to bring up fact that he, along with all the other campers were kept together, supervised, and stayed (and showered) in the dorms, not in any other buildings.

You do realize neither were Temple grads. One is a Moravian graduate and the other was a 2016 graduate of Penn State.

To be honest, I don't care where either of them are from. To wear that shirt, you are a waste of human space and have bigger issues. That picture will haunt them in any job they pursue unless they plan to work at Walmart. It's not a representation of Temple or Penn State. It's a representation of idiots

just crazy the lack of independent thought

Court documents show that people made allegations in order to get a financial settlement. They say absolutely nothing about the credibility of those claims. In fact, prosecutors dismissed the claims as unreliable, called them double and triple hearsay, and a dead end.

But the media neglected to report that part. So it is with this case.

There was no 1976 incident. Only an allegation in which the alleged victim told PSU players (he couldn't remember who), assistant coaches (he couldn't remember who), then Paterno (and he knew extreme details about where the conversation was, who was around, and what Paterno said).

Oh then he never told anyone else for 40 years until he got paid to tell the story.

Actually, how does the 1976 claim "prove" that Paterno knew? All it proves is that PSU was stupid enough to pay a claim they didn't bother to vet. Then when they tried to get reimbursed from the insurance company, the company said we're not paying for such a ridiculous, stupid claim.

And now, they've both been subpoenaed-- by the NCAA-- to testify in the Paterno v. NCAA case, and they're crying they have health issues that will keep them from testifying. You know what? You got lots of money in the bank, courtesy of PSU. That should be enough to fix your heart, liver, asshole, whatever's bothering you. Take the stand, and prepare to be cross-examined. Then we'll see what the story is.

Maybe there isn't enough money to fix an ailing conscience.

I don't think Joe about the 1976 Sandusky incident, but if he did, wouldn't he also know that the state investigated and found nothing?

Joe or anybody else would have kicked JS out if they wanted to protect the reputation of the school or football program.

They might kick him out without reporting to police but it makes no logical sense that they would have covered up for him and allow his behavior to continue for 40 years. That defies all logic. Unfortunately the media prefers a sensational story to common sense.

Who is mike wise ??
Unfortunately he's the author of an anti-Joe article that's getting a gazillion retweets and all kinds of praise in social media. Somehow, in his mind, forgiving Joe is an insult to Jerry's victims and the equivalent to forgiving his uncle who sexually abused him. This is the core of what we're up against, perception-wise.

Everyone thinks McQueary told Joe a graphic story of anal rape and Joe turned a blind eye. Everyone believes this because our own BOT fired Joe with exclamation points and paid Louis Freeh $8.5 million to justify their decision. We were able to open some minds to the other side of the story until the 1970s allegations cemented public perception that Joe knew and protected a serial child rapist for decades. To them, that makes us a sick cult of sports-obsessed, hero-worshiping lunatics who sacrifice children to the football gods. It can be a pretty cruel world out there.

Yeah...and I blame New York City for Son of Sam.

I do know who Jemele Hill is, and I do know she is an idiot. I'd love to have a beer with her and tell her as much.

It's laughable how obvious the 76 issue was nothing more than a money grab. I pray that this is the one JZ (supposedly) has audio tapes of being a "plant" and sometime soon people are able to hear the tapes. Come on JZ we need you to come through this time!

It's beyond pathetic how the only people giving this any kind of credibility is our own BOTs!!

Looks like @rmb297 was able to get through, although it doesn't appear that Mike actually read Ray's attached link.

There was no anal rape. I have yet to get an answer to "Who was raped, when and where"?

Because they can't answer it, it's bullshit that there was "rape".

Amazing how when anyone claims victim (I'm not disputing Wise's claim) that everything that person says it taken as gospel and no one is ballsy enough to challenge their narrative

We live in a world where bad news sells. Media outlets are constantly fanning the flames of hate for viewer ratings. Paterno lawsuit is the only shot at changing the narrative. If Sue Paterno is successful in her lawsuit cameras will focus on Freeh and the NCAA.

At this point I feel like PSU would have had less negative press if the decided to honor jerry instead of Joe.

Just need to get beyond this week and last. All of the anti-JoeBots are out there conflating JS with JVP. The next "honor Joe" won't be reported outside of PA.

His column is pretty stupid. Basically blames Joe Paterno for his own abuse. He also forgot about how the DPW and CPS and etc knew about Uncle Spud and didn't do their jobs. His whole narrative in his shit column is so misguided it's pathetic. I'm sorry he was abused, but he really needs to educate himself before stamping all child abuse cases the same as his.

OK, so Mike Wise was abused by an uncle when he was a kid. So how does that empower him to speak on every other allegation of child sexual abuse anywhere? Should we be on twitter screaming that we hope his parents are burning in hell? After all, it was one of their brothers who abused him. They had to know- damn enablers.

They're just saying stuff at this point. I listened to one radio host say that Joe had to know because he and Jerry were best friends and people always know what their best friends are up to. Where do you even start with these people? Of course they weren't best friends and they never hung out together socially. The talk show host just made that up and most of his listeners believe him.

The truth is that Joe didn't want Jerry bringing kids on campus. He gets fired and defamed. Erickson signs off on Jerry being allowed to bring kids on campus and he gets his name on the Creamery. Have you heard one media outlet talk about how MM's dad, Dranov, TSM (Raykovitz), CPS, DPW, AG, etc. should have done more? Of course not. It's truly unbelievable that the media made this all about Joe. Of course the BOT set it all up by firing Joe by phone, not allowing him to defend himself, and without the benefit of an investigation. If the BOT was willing to throw Joe under the bus I guess we shouldn't be surprised that the media jumped on the bandwagon.

Despite telling myself not to, I made the mistake of watching the end of Outside the Lines on ESPN today.

Apparently, JayPa was on first, but this Wise guy was the current guest.

Paraphrasing, he said that if he could tell Jay something, it would be that Joe should have done more, by getting the name of the victim that was in the shower with Sandusky in '02. To do what, I have no idea.

He also made it sound as if the the 1970's accusations were fact.

So to go back to a thread from Saturday, the question was asked if the narrative had changed. I think it is now safe to say that it's not even close and it never will be close. Wise missed an opportunity here. He could have used his unfortunate experience of being abused to maybe dig in to this story and expose the BOT and the CYS and the Second Mile and on and on and on but instead, he falls right into the vast media narrative that has poisoned everyone from Day 1. It is truly sad that there are people out there paid to write opinions that the sheep listen to and they write those opinions with zero critical thought behind it. Why is it that we have people on this board who have done more research into this case and have called out one by one the individuals involved in this mess (the brilliant 'Feckless' series) and there are people with national voices who can't even get a simple fact straight?
