40 years to the very day...1/1/79...my first real heartbreak from watching a football game, let alone any sporting event. I was only 8 1/2, but I can vividly recall how upset I was when Penn State lost to Alabama, largely because watching how upset my father was. I became a Penn Stater that day.
The whole concept of time baffles me. I graduated from PSU just 14 years and one week later (1/8/93), and yet the time difference from those 14 years ('79-'93) seem like an eternity compared to the now 26 years since my graduation.
