ends in two weeks. I am always insane on Penn State game day. We Are.
Am I able to take my daughter up to watch the team practice? Was wondering. ThanksTwo weeks from right now I will be in our parking spot in the red lot or whatever number it is now, drinking a Bloody Mary with my wife, hopefully my son, and friends. Occasionally looking up at the stadium and thinking whatever is a problem or wrong with the world can just go away for a bunch of hours. I don’t care that we are playing the Fighting Mr. Potato Heads or the Bellefonte Red Raiders. After what has seemed like a really long off season will be over.
I turned the big 60 a couple of months ago. You don’t know how many more of these I get so I will enjoy every second of it as I have done every fall since my first game in 1966. I had a coworker ask me what we plan to do in the fall and I said go to penn state games. He said oh, what else. I said nothing, it’s the only thing I have ever done on fall weekends my entire life. Its all I know.
I know many of you say you’d rather not go to the game, you're more comfortable in your family room near the fridge, etc. I feel sorry for you that you don’t appreciate the experience of game day. For my wife and I, a bad day at a penn State game is better than a good day most anywhere else.
Wherever you are, enjoy the season and whatever it may bring. I saw practice last week. This team will be good soon and great later. I’m just not sure how fast that will come.

Wow - that’s one helluva condescending statement - that you feel sorry that we don’t appreciate the game day experience. Are you for real?
No consideration for folks who live hundreds of miles from the stadium? What about folks who can’t afford a whole season ticket package plus seat license, or premium parking in the shadow of the stadium? Or any of the hundreds of other reasons people may not be able to attend every game for decades on end.
You’re fortunate to be able to do so, but realize that many other folks appreciate the experience but the couch is the way they can enjoy the games. Stop looking down your nose at others.
Didn’t he say he felt sorry for people who choose to stay home? I didn’t take that as condescending at all.

I hear you, but I have a little better grip on it of late.ends in two weeks. I am always insane on Penn State game day. We Are.
My 50 year old neighbor flys a Penn State flag in his front yard. He's got Penn State stickers on both vehicles he owns. He contributes $500.00 a year to the university. For 20 seasons he held season tickets. He tailgated nearly every game, and went to at least one away game a year. Three years ago he gave up his seats and decided to stay home and watch the games. He's been through the game day experience but, for various reasons, now prefers watching at home. I don't feel sorry for him. I feel sorry for you if you cannot appreciate that his choice is no less worthy than yours.I know many of you say you’d rather not go to the game, you're more comfortable in your family room near the fridge, etc. I feel sorry for you that you don’t appreciate the experience of game day. I will be 75 on 9/9. I am a bigger fan than ever. You have plenty of years left. 75 is the new 55??Two weeks from right now I will be in our parking spot in the red lot or whatever number it is now, drinking a Bloody Mary with my wife, hopefully my son, and friends. He said that those that choose to stay home don’t appreciate the game day experience as much as he does apparently. That equates to basically saying that if you choose to not drive 10 hours to the stadium you don’t appreciate the experience. Thousands of folks appreciate the experience, probably more than he does b/c it’s old hat to him but it might be the one game a year or every 5 years that another fan can attend, but because they choose to not drive 10 hours each way he is looking down on them for making that “choice”.
Just came across as a real “Let them eat cake” kind of statement, especially combined with the humblebrag about parking in the red lot.
Good for you. Your as old as you think. My body is 62, but not my mind. When I'm 75 I think it will be the new 45!I will be 75 on 9/9. I am a bigger fan than ever. You have plenty of years left. 75 is the new 55??
Methuselah, according to legend, died at age 969. Back then the 900's were the new 750's and it has been said, at his death, he did not look a day over 875.Good for you. Your as old as you think. My body is 62, but not my mind. When I'm 75 I think it will be the new 45!

I’ll be a couch potato for the Idaho game.
I will surely be at some athletic activity for one of my daughters.
You know, you’re looking pale. Are you feeling O.K.? I think you need to rest in front of the TV for an extended period.

seems like 3 years ago he decided not to MAKE SOME NOOOOIIIIIIIISE any longerThat sounds a lot like me.....Hi neighbor!
And would you mind cleaning up your yard a bit? It’s becoming an eyesore. Other neighbors are talking.....
At 60 you are young enjoy the games while you can. I'm 74 and don't get around well at all. I miss going to the games - rain sleet snow heat cold whatever the world could bring because no matter what else was going on in my life I had the games to fall back on.Two weeks from right now I will be in our parking spot in the red lot or whatever number it is now, drinking a Bloody Mary with my wife, hopefully my son, and friends. OK on the yard, but please limit play on your tennis court to daylight hours. The bright lights at night make it hard for me to sleep. That sounds a lot like me.....Hi neighbor!
