I think he is a great pass coordinator, but a very bad run coordinator. Everyone talked about all the success he has had other places. I am guessing he only runs run plays from the read option, in the most simplistic ways, because he never had to do anything else. I keep wondering why he never changes up the run game. Well he probably never had a back like Barkley, and teams load up like crazy to stop his RB elsewhere.
All I know is this pathetic run game cannot go on. Franklin being the HC should put his foot down already, and demand some change in the run game, instead of just saying "We have to improve" in his press conferences.
