Mark this down:
Two years from now Narduzzi will be gone to greener pastures. He will be replaced with a loser.
Five years from now pitt will drop out of the ACC for football and start playing Robert Morris, Duquesne, Point Park, etc.
pitt can no longer recruit against the big boys and will be forced out of the football mainstream.
The more I see of the Douche the more I want him to stick at Pitt. The more he coaches the less likely he will attract a better job...He should have jumped ship while he could. His arrow is now pointing down.
How dare you be so objective and level-headed. I'm ashamed.I am not as anti-Pitt as many here. My objective analysis, albeit incomplete as I have not seen a lot of Pitt football this year, is that they should be a pretty solid team next year. Per the rivals depth chart they return 8 starters on offense and 8 on defense and that assumes Boyd leaves. In addition to the 8, Connor should be back which will give them a nice 1-2 punch at HB to team with an experienced QB and a decent o-line.
Will they be great? Not even close. But certainly 6-6 - 8-4 is likely and they will be a tough September match up for us.
I think Narduzzi is a capable coach with a challenging job to do. I also think he is cutting his teeth as a head coach at Pitt and will at some point move back to the Big Ten or perhaps the Cleveland Browns . He has done an admirable job at Pitt to date and they will be a difficult opponent next year.
I don't hate Pitt, I don't cheer for Pitt, they are more of an afterthought with respect to college football and I hope to god PSU does not lose to them the next two years.

1-- Most of the Pitt team is back next year. How much does this team improve ?
2-- Does it seem as though the NarDog is unhinged on the sidelines? Doesn't appear to be much of a sidelines coach.
How does Pitt match up with Penn State next year?
I actually wouldn't be surprised if Boyd came back should his eval grade put him at 3rd round. He'll be a great player but only chance to improve that grade is the combine...and with speed not being his best asset as opposed to his hands and route running his projection is unlikely to change much.
Pitt and PSU are still dealing with the bulk of their talent being younger players. Position by position matchup there are still too many unknowns and both teams will have a lot of work to do offensively. Skill positions are in good shape though.
Defensively, I don't know what Pitt brings back but even with a retooling on the DL PSU has superior talent at LB and secondary.
1- I was surprised by the way he behaved yesterday. Not sure how many players are looking for that.
2- with plenty of time to prepare, the D seemed to be constantly surprised and slow.
3- didn't make many adjustments during the game. Game day coaching was not good.
I heard Mel Kiper say, that depending on how his combine went, that he was a first round choice.
