put that on the recruiting powerpoint slides:

Defensive Player of the Year: DE Carl Nassib, Penn State
-- Nassib came to Penn State as a preferred walk-on. Five years later, he's leaving as the CBS Sports Defensive Player of the Year. Nassib, who was given a scholarship before the 2013 season, blew up in 2015. After having only two sacks in 22 career games the prior two years, he was given a bigger role in 2015 and took full advantage of it, finishing the season by leading the nation with 15.5 sacks (1.19 sacks per game).

Nassib also had 19.5 tackles for loss on the season, as he was a disruptive force on the Penn State defense. He did more than just rush the passer, too, as he also had an interception this season, broke up another pass and led the nation in fumbles forced with six.
