Well if they had Comcast they wouldn't be able to let you know since their service is out
I have Comcast. Can still get online. Just cannot access comcast email or services.

2 major US fiber lines cut causing outages across Comcast, DirecTV,
Charter, Verizon and AT&T...Lines were between CHI/NY and Virginia/South
Carolina.

Where did you get the 5:30 time? I can't find any mention of when it's expected to be back on.2 major US fiber lines cut causing outages across Comcast, DirecTV,

I did think about that. Many people use multiple providers/devices, etc.[/QUOTE
Total comcast user triple play (landline, TV, internet) here in Naples. Service has been flickering on and off, now three times today but returns after a few minutes. Before you criticize me for being a comcast customer the association where we live provides free basic cable service. Free is a good thing even if it occasionally goes down.

I just now got it back (suburban Washington, D.C.).Where did you get the 5:30 time? I can't find any mention of when it's expected to be back on.
You will win that argument depending upon how long you were out. Last year during hurricane Irma we were out over a week, called and we got a credit for even a few more days than we were out. Rep asked if we wanted a free pay channel for three months, they gave us Showtime,Western Pa. -- No email, no TV, no phone, do have internet
I will be on the phone with them soon to request a refund for lost service. Comcast charges so much that service should be perfect 24/7.

Looks like it was one line cut somewhere.
"Around 2:43 p.m., a customer service representative with Comcast began replying to concerned users on Twitter telling them that the cause was a fiber from one of Comcast's "large backbone network partners" that was cut."
Not to pile on but we have Comcast; phone & Internet service were OK, TV services were out for about 3 hours. Usually, it's the opposite.Well if they had Comcast they wouldn't be able to let you know since their service is out
I agree, I think Comcast is fantastic..Comcast is making the world a better place today.
I work IT we monitor outages that may affect services at Penn StateWhere did you get the 5:30 time? I can't find any mention of when it's expected to be back on.
Skynet ready to go active.Did the news report happen to say how they were cut? Sounds like someone is doing a test run on how to exploit weaknesses in our communications systems. Two lines cut that far apart? Can’t both be accidents.
