He disclosed his personal medical game status to a known NBA bettor. That bettor then placed an $80k bet to win $1.1m on Porter to underperform.

Nonsense . I’m not quiet. This is nothing like Pete Rose was accused of and Pete being banned from the Hall of Fame has absolutely no influence on the outcome of professional sports events or the exchange of money for that matter.

It's a stupid and completely ridiculous penalty.


This penalty is completely disproportionate and hypocritical, and is meant as a PR move for the integrity of their... partner's gambling business. Yeah, I'm sure the NBA's "investigation" found this to be an isolated incident. As with every other "lifetime" ban this will be reversed.
 
The Porter family is kind of a disaster. Have to wonder what happened.

I do agree it will be reversed eventually
