Just another pounding that pitt will take. In 2 weeks when NC St. lights them up in front of their 500 fans....

The NC State game is our off week. I'm thinking of going down if it is a nice day. Two bucks each way for the bus, so I can pay up to $5 for a ticket. If it costs me more than a sawbuck for a day at the old ball park, then I'm not going.

The way NC State has played the past few weeks, it makes that week 1 loss to South Carolina look like a head scratcher. They possess a great DLine, possibly top 5 in the country.

Their game with Clemson will be interesting again to say the least.

Saquon's Heisman competition is taking on oil. First Darnold, now Jackson.

Stay for the whole game and get a free Pepsi thrown in for your sawbuck.

As much as it pains you, it looks like the Stanford running back is Saquon's competition right now.
Two losses for Stanford already with more on the way will make it more difficult. Then throw in the west coast where no one will see him and it's quite an uphill climb. If McCaffery didn't win it, I'm not sure someone else from Stanford can. I still think Mayfield has the edge....playing in a conference with no defense.

Yea I had no idea they were that good.
Their stadium was rocking last night.

Last year's game certainly was.

If NC State wins that game they will find themselves in the same situation as PSU last year. NC State wins head to head...wins Division...could win ACC...but Clemson will be in the Playoff if they only lose that one game...Then lets see what the media narrative is.

Don't forget the free refreshments at the end of the game. Also, it's a great place for an afternoon snooze. Not a bad deal for 9 bucks.

Hmm... I feel like you're mixing phrases here.

Taking on Water
&
Leaking/Burning Oil

I'm curious though if taking on oil is an actual phrase?

LdN
Maybe he means "taking root", since Darnold and Jackson are fading away.

They would need to lose one other game to be in our predicament. If they win out, they get in over Clemson. If they beat Clemson, but lose to Note Dame then it very well could happen.

The division splits are terrible in that on lopsided years, the second best team doesn't make it's own conference championship game. Few and far between are CCGs with two great teams who actually didn't play in the regular season because of schedule rotation.

Luckily for NC State they are in the weakest division in all of college football. If NC State was in either Big 10 division they would likely finish 3 - 6 at best.

If NC State wins out they would have beaten Clemson, Won their Division, play in the ACC championship with a great chance on winning it and if Clemson Wins out and their only loss is NC state Clemson is going to the playoff without winning their division..just like OSU last year

Don't worry. Stanford is gonna get blasted at least twice more this season. This kid Love will not even make it to New York. Saquon is very likely to be the lone running back in New York.

Do you have them both in the playoffs if NC State beats Clemson, wins out and Clemson wins out with the one loss? Or are you saying NC State gets jipped?

I can't see NC State being left out AND Clemson going in over them if they both have 1 loss. However, if NC State is the perceived better team, I could see them being left out if, say, Alabama and Georgia meet in the SEC CCG both undefeated and have a competitive 32-28 type game like they did a couple years back.

Of course, it's way early. Right now, it looks like there could be 5 undefeated P5 conference champions. We could end up with zero.

It would not surprise me in the least if NC State would get jipped...they already set the precedent
