Shouldn't this help Cael's guys, who are aggressive on offense and generally go for take downs ....
Why? It's always been 2. What's the logic to change the rule?Shouldn't this help Cael's guys, who are aggressive on offense and generally go for take downs ....
Seems like they want to up the reward for being aggressive. Promote more "action", more shots. So that the wrestler that is aggressive, that gets take downs build a bigger lead and then forces the other wrestler to get aggressive to stay in the match. More scoring. Why? It's always been 2. It’s to get wrestlers to be more aggressive, rather than stalling and just locking up like the Iowa kids doSeems like they want to up the reward for being aggressive. As an example, a wrestler won't be able to give up a takedown in the first period, get an escape before the end of the 1st period, then in the 2nd and 3rd periods get an escape and a rideout and get to sudden death. It will force the wrestler that gives up the first takedown to be more aggressive.
Yep. Makes the third period much more active. Can’t just ride it out with a point and riding timeIt’s to get wrestlers to be more aggressive, rather than stalling and just locking up like the Iowa kids do
And they guy who get the first to be potentially less aggressive. Cuts both ways.Seems like they want to up the reward for being aggressive. Promote more "action", more shots. TF’s will happen quickly , PSU duals could be over in 1.5 hours or less I’d sayI agree with most of the positive aspects of a 3 point takedown presented here. Unfortunately though, there will be some matches that are like our Border Security approach. Catch and release, catch and release, catch and release.
Yep, it's 3 for 1 now, vs 2 for 1.TF’s will happen quickly , PSU duals could be over in 1.5 hours or less I’d say
And you believe Cael's wrestlers will take that approach? And they guy who get the first to be potentially less aggressive. Cuts both ways.
No, but if you are a wrestling fan (and watch matches that don’t always involve PSU as well), you will see both strategies. And you believe Cael's wrestlers will take that approach?
Not me.
Cael's PSU wrestlers go for points.
