NCAA ticket question

Question for the seasoned tourney goers here:

Does anybody know if or when Ticketmaster will be selling 2019 NCAA tickets again? I've been following a thread on HR on the same topic and someone indicated that Ticketmaster only sold a portion of the tickets the week of this year's tournament and will be selling more tickets in the future. I have since submitted my number to Ticketmaster for an alert if they do go on sale again. Of note, I have seen the tickets available on the secondary market but am on the lookout for something a little more reasonably priced.

In the alternative, do season ticket holders have an opportunity to purchase tickets through the allotment given to PSU? We have some friends who are season ticket holders and may be willing to help out.

I'm trying to get tickets for myself, my dad and uncle, and maybe some others so we can share the experience together. Any insight would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if I somehow missed this info if already posted here. Thank you much and enjoy the holiday weekend.

Season ticket holders that are also members of the Nittany Lion Club get first chance at tickets. If you’re not both, and have at least 1200+ NLC points, you won’t get tickets through PSU. I am both but only have about 350 NLC points and did not get tickets this year. Quite a few, myself included, went through other schools for tickets. Other than that, there’s not much else available at face value.

I've been thinking that as well. The tickets which sold out a couple weeks ago were in the area of Sec. 211. I've seen some of those for Session 6 already listed on the secondary market for $600+. There are also tickets for sale HERE which are approximately that price but they also include some hospitality add-ons. Those are in sections 111, 112, 113 and 220. The prices have gone up more than $200 on that site since the recent championship ended. It must be adjusted based on demand and apparently the demand was more than they originally expected. There's no telling what the demand will be come next March but my guess is prices on that site will likely come down once their algorithm determines the current price is too high.

How did you go about going through another school, Gray? Just called the athletic department? Thank you for your response.

Anybody shooting for a suite? I’m hoping to land a spot in one.

Suites are great but just under $14K in Cleveland is a bit steep. I expect the cost in Pittsburgh will be even higher. For comparison purposes I paid $300 for a club/suite seat in Philly. That's over a 400% increase in just years, which is just off the charts.

I expect some people will chip in and pay my way for being a good luck charm. After all we’ve won 7 titles in the 8 years I’ve been a fan...

True for this year, and may be a tougher ticket next year. Even NYC two years ago ended with much fewer NLC Points for getting tickets through PSU.

It's proximity, so 2020, 2021, and 2022 won't be nearly as tough a ticket for those attending in Minneapolis, St. Louis, or Detroit.

For those going StubHub, Ticketmaster, and the like, it's supply/demand, so whatever the market will stand is what will be charged. Most of these sites will have more tickets once folks get theirs and post them.

Calling other schools is time consuming (unless you're lucky with an early call). Those that have already done it know which schools to call, and those not to, generally. I'm close to many fans, and UTC, Maryland, Wyoming, Drexel, American, Old Dominion, among others, as well as some local schools, provided PSU fans with tickets. Call the ticket offices, though some are so small that you may end up talking to the wrestling coach to apply for and buy tickets through that school. Others, like Drexel, may require you to join their NLC-equivalent, and pay, say $50, to have the right to buy tickets. Sharing just to point out the variety of situations fans face.

Suites were very high this year, $25,000 for 18 seats is a dramatic difference from Madison Square Garden. Still, I am aware of a good number that went that route. Each venue has different rules, and I'm not sure yet how it'll work in Pittsburgh.

So, in others words, since shortly after wrestling was invented? ;)

Maybe you should start a gofundme page. Seems like a worthy cause.

We were lucky enough to snag some tickets for 2019 during the general public sale on ticketmaster a couple weeks ago. The confirmation email says they will ship 10-14 days from purchase. Is this accurate or do they actually ship send them sometime much later?

I too purchased tickets but had not received them in 10-14 days. I finally called Ticketmaster to see if they had been mailed. They said they would not be mailed until later in the year, but could not say when that will be.
