Football Nebraska fires Scott Frost

Wow. They couldn’t wait until October 1st when their buy out was reduced

Didn't even wait to save money
Frost will be an assistant at Bama next year
Well he was paid very well so he can take a break from coaching. He got lucky at Florida with that qb
I wonder if the days of the huskers as a great program are over

Nebby board is a riot naming the usual suspects and some others who they think will turn it around. One was Frank Solich .
LOL. Solich retired two years ago as HC of Saturday's Ohio University to concentrate on his health.

Bo Pelini is available!

I'm sorry, but firing a guy and having to pay him $15 M when you could wait 21 days and pay him only $7.5 M is patently ridiculous. Things just get more and more silly and since it's incremental so people don't notice. If they waited 21 days they could save $350 K per day. People will look back on this stuff one day and talk about how stupid it all was.

Because Scott Frost failed so badly at Nebraska...specifically because he failed so badly...the extra amount he'll get compared to failing a little less badly and being fired 21 days later will be more than the typical persons earns in their entire 40 year working career.

I'd bet the farm that mega booster and NU Regent Howard Hawks told Trev to get rid of him and do it now and Trev wasn't about to tell him no. He's likely going to have a major say in who gets hired too.

It is odd that he’s done so poorly with his CV.
Might suggest the particular environment, rather than an acute lack of ability.
—He’s demonstrated very solid success at a high level in the past. Likely he will do so again.

Hillarious that people here who really don't know if or how Frost's departure was negotiated financially seem to believe that based on the public details of his contract love to come in and criticize decisions. Frost is a Nebraska guy heart and soul so he may have let Nebraska off the hook knowing the pressure the administrantion is under by fans and wanting what is in the best interests of Nebraska football going forward. Will the facts ever be released? Who knows.

They’ve been over for decades. Once shooting up linemen like prize beef cattle became frowned upon, it was over
Osborne had a number of pretty questionable characters there during those years as well.

The national championship game against Miami in 2000 or 2001 might be their last great team.

Of course he could have negotiated--he shouldn't have but he could have if his loyalty is truly that strong to a university that wants to fire him

I'd say this is most likely.

Nebraska could have forced him to coach out the season.

Neither side had a winning hand.

Honestly, as bad as Nebraska fans now look for wanting Frost he at least won at UCF
Remember when people want Al Golden here? lol

Dozens of articles on Campbell from Iowa State being the favorite, but they also say it’s not much of a step up from ISU for the many reasons discussed here.
