Need to change kickers NOW, before it costs them a game.

By now it's obvious. The moment is just too big for the kid, and that has to be the last time he kicks in game action.

This nearly cost Penn State the game tonight and against a team with a better passing game, they are 3-1, not 4-0.

Fact. Apologies to the kids family and friends on here, but some kids just can't handle the moment.

So changing kickers guarantees next one up is better????

T Frank Carr with probably the all time winner of apologist posts: "It's the offenses fault because all drives should end in touchdowns and Sahaydak should be just sitting on the bench:"

😂 😂 😂. That's his JOB Frank. He's not kicking again. 3 years and we have seen what he is. Make the change now or lose because of it.

It's not their job to be his psychiatrist, it's their job to win games. They were very, very fortunate that their defense played out of their minds to make up for his poor kicking. Make the change James. You brought that kid in from Tulsa to do a job. Time to put him out there to do it. There won't be a next time. Change now.

I remember Sam Ficken struggling early on. Then what happened?
That team was 8-4 and ineligible for any playoff spot. Apples and oranges. This team has 1000 more reasons to need it fixed before it costs them games. That team had the luxury of losing to Virginia because of it. This team does not.

Actually no. It can't. Look, this is big time football, not Slippery Rock. If this were Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, Georgia, etc...would this kid have even seen the field THIS year? Would he ever kick again after last night?

I'll go ahead and answer: Hell no.
OK, so I think we can put Delco down for “It’s time to switch kickers.”

He’s 3/9 in his career. We’ve seen enough.
before we throw him to the curb....every week, according to franklin, there is a competition among kickers and the winner kicks in the upcoming game....obviously then, sahaydak has been the weekly winner. Problem is, he can't hit in a game...so there's a problem somewhere...maybe in his head, maybe just a setup thing in a game......maybe we bring a kicking guru (or sports psychologist) in to work with him. Who knows, maybe he's a modern day fricken.

Until then, we need to let someone else have a chance or maybe sadaydak does short kicks and someone else does longer ones. we do need to try something different

He’s such a frustrating kicker because he obviously has a strong leg; it appears that he could make 50 plus yard field goals. His kicks are high and powerful. However, he has a pretty big problem as a kicker: he just is not accurate. Last night, he missed field goals wide to both goal posts, although they were narrow misses.

I actually thought that he had turned to the corner in the BG game because he made two field goals that were necessary to win that game, and then he reverts back to regular form last night.

I guess based on Franklin’s comments last night, we’re reaching critical mass with this matter.

There needs to be an in-game audition by Chase Meyer against UCLA..
For those talking about practice, I give you the words of. Alan Iverson, "practice, you talking bout practice?" LOL

Here's a baseball analogy. I had a friend in the USAF, great athlete who was in the Reds farm system for two short seasons. He could throw in the 90s, but his location was very inconsistent by his own admission and they released him. He understood.
PSU's current FG kicker has leg strength but his accuracy is poor and several upcoming games could be decided by a FG. He hasn't shown he's able to make FGs consistently.

I have no argument with you; he’s missed too many kicks. If you want to play football like Michigan under Harbaugh, you have to have a reliable kicker like they had with Moody.

Tangential note re: place kicker recruiting.

North Allegheny has an Alabama recruit 5 star kicker, Peter Notaro, who has supposedly made a 72 yd fg in practice.

NA played Pittsburgh Central Catholic whose PK, Billy Lech, connected from 54 yards.

Chase Meyer made 17 of 20 kicks for Tulsa last year
I still think they don't use him because he's basically only good from inside 40--not he should probably be kicking all of those
But 3/5 for 40+ with a miss under 40 and no attempts over 50 make me think they aren't going with him because he doesn't have a strong leg

Maybe Meyer from less than 40 yds in and Sander 40 yds & beyond. They have to figure something out or simply play 4 downs more often from opposition 45 yd line in if neither kicker is reliable?

In today's game, a 40 yard field goal is a shorter one. He misses those too

And again, their job is to win games, not be a psychiatrist.

In 2018 we had EXACTLY that kind of kicker. I can't even count how many makes he had from 45 and in that barely crossed the uprights. He wasn't great, but he made most of his attempts and he didn't cost us games.

Those weren't easy for the guy you want to play...he hit just 60% on 40+ and they limited his attempts. Better than Sander but let's stop pretending Sander was playing over some elite kicker.

Pinegar wasn't good though....not sure if that's revisionist history or what but, to be fair, Sander hasn't cost us a game....yet anyway.

I don't want to see Sander again but Barker is the guy I'm giving the first chance to

Nobody said that. 60 percent is better than 10 percent.

Who beat out "Coming Home video" and "Harbaugh Sleepover" pal Quinn Nordin.

The Saquon td on the first play at home vs Michigan was special- as was The Mighty Quinn's misses in a ruacous Beaver Stadium- which lead to his displacement.

I rarely boo at college games- but did that night @ Nordin.

We need a kicker who can make most of his attempts- 33.3% just isn't enough.

Scholarship or not- time to try the backups. Kid has the leg, form and power...just not the results.
