Net Neutrality

I've been thinking about the FCC ruling yesterday regarding the internet. I support the elimination of net neutrality. Let me explain why.

I use a modest amount of bandwidth. I use email and look at a few select websites each day. On the other hand my sister doesn't pay for cable TV or for the Dish. She does everything via NetFlix. If she wants to watch a TV show, she downloads it from NetFlix. She watches NetFlix movies everyday. More huge downloads. She probably uses 1,000 times more bandwidth than I do. We both pay the same fee for high speed internet. Why does that make sense? It doesn't!

Why not have "gasoline neutrality"? Everyone would pay $30 per week for gasoline regardless of how much gasoline was used. A big rig driver who uses 250 gallons per day and a widow who drives 3 miles to church and 5 miles for groceries each week would each pay $30 per week under "gasoline neutrality". That would make no sense and would not be fair.

Isn't net neutrality inherently inequitable and unreasonable? Everyone is paying the same regardless of internet usage. This makes no sense to me. People should pay for what they use.

What do the rest of you think about this issue?
