The Ludlow Massacre, which occurred April 20, 1914, resulted in the death of 19 people including 13 women and children. The Colorado National Guard and the Colorado Fuel and Iron Company guards attacked a tent colony of 1,200 striking coal miners and their families in Ludlow, Colorado.
