Abbreviated but good. Get it while it's hot and before someone somewhere (Willy) calls and makes them take it down.

IMO Nick doesn't look himself, then again Cassar looks as fast as he did as a 197. He is going to be a real problem for everyone in that class.

Wow, did Cassar look EXPLOSIVE!

He looks really, really quick for a HWT. I'm still not 100% convinced that he'll dismantle the really big heavies, especially those that are also reasonably athletic. Nick's good, no doubt, and I think it's safe to say that if healthy, he'd place in the #1-5 area at NCAA's and while I see AC really destroying some guys that Nick might beat by 1 point, I also seeing him struggling with others that Nick has already beaten. As usual with PSU lately, it's a really good problem to have.

The only data points we have to compare this year’s version of Nevills to last year’s are the matches against Cary Miller.

Nick beat him by four at last year’s Keystone and six at this year’s. Different types of matches, but very similar results.

Looked like the same Nevills to me in every match except the one against Cassar. If anything, I think he looked more dynamic on his feet this year.

RBY had great stuff from neutral. Finished shots and converted counter takedowns as well. And Cassar - man, is he going to outquick a lot of guys!

Interesting datum point; thanks. From only watching the Nevills-Cassar bout, I would say that Nick still had a good bit of rust. But then Cassar had something to do with that perception.

I want to see Cassar vs Gable. I am not convinced one way or another who wins that matchup but it will surely be something to see.

Doesn't Nick qualify as a big heavy who is reasonably athletic?

Nick's a moderate-sized heavy and he's relatively quick and athletic, but I wouldn't say that he's "big" or super athletic. I trust that the coaches wouldn't have put him on the mat unless he was physically ready as well, but there could be some rust or some nervousness about his shoulder. Don't get me wrong, I'm really, really impressed that Cassar handled him that easily, but I'm just not sure that any 225-230 pound HWT not named Snyder is going to sail through the season and even Snyder lost to a "big heavy". I'll be really pleased with PSU's heavyweight this year, I can assure you of that, and it's starting to look as if it may be Anthony Cassar.

I dont think anybody is going to sail, but this is the weakest heavyweight class I can remember. Maybe even one of the weakest overall weight classes in recent memory. If Stoll is #1, it's truly anybody's for the taking, including Cassar.

Two iconic PSU singlets wrestling each other seems wrong—unholy ... in the same way that Mongol-on-Mongol warfare after Ogedei’s death seems sacrilegious.
