New commit

For a kid like Hack, they should give all of his family scholarships to whatever sport they want.

Two Penn State Football* players will be Hackenbergs...

From article...

Call it a family tradition.

Penn State has acquired another Hackenberg, only this time for a sport more widely known around the world.

Standing at 6’1″ 175, Brandon is a tall, strong center back who currently plays for Richmond United U18 team. Already being scouted by the U.S Soccer Development Academy, Hackenberg is sure to help fortify Penn State’s roster once he gets to Happy Valley.

The Penn State men’s soccer team is coming off a solid 2014 season where they finished 13-6-1. However, a loss in the first round of the Big Ten tournament and second round of the NCAA tournament brought a disappointing end to the season, so look for the Nittany Lions to bounce back this fall. With a strong soccer program and an outstanding family tradition, Brandon Hackenberg made the right decision verbally committing to Penn State.

From Oct 2014 article...

[Christian Hackenberg's] three brothers, Brandon (17), Adam (15) and Drue (12), all have different personalities, Hackenberg said. They’re all starting to develop their own niches in sports, too.

Brandon is the family’s soccer player while Adam played defense on Fork Union’s ninth grade football team last season. Adam Hackenberg will turn out to be the baseball star, Hackenberg speculated.

Drue may want to follow in his oldest brother’s footsteps.

“He’s relatively younger, so he’s sort of exploring,” Hackenberg said. “He keeps telling me he wants to play quarterback, so we’ll see how that goes.”

Hackenberg wants to play quarterback the best he possibly can. He wants to play in the NFL eventually. It’s part of the reason why he committed to Penn State in the first place.

Hack's great leadership qualities probably stem from being the big brother to three younger brothers.

Is it too early to offer Drue?
