As much as I love Tom Hardy, and I think he'll be a fine Bond (if this ends up being true), it's a fairly expected and safe choice. He's certainly at his best when he doesn't rely on being a pretty boy (Bronson, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and I think with the right material he will kill this (think Eames in 'Inception'). But, I was really hoping for someone less predictable - mostly Idris Elba. The other contenders were too 'weak' IMO (Tom Hiddleston, Richard Madden, Robert Pattinson) or too unknown (Aiden Turner, Jack Lowden, Sam Heughan) or just too....really off brand (Riz Ahmed, Michael B. Jordan, John Boyega, Harry Styles, Henry Cavill...). I thought Craig was a really great, non-traditional James Bond and he'll be tough to follow. Maybe someone like Michael Fassbender would have been cool too. Still, really interested to see Hardy as Bond.
