I think if someone told you what Detroit would’ve done before the draft, I almost think it’d be more believable if they picked Campbell first and then Gibbs.
It might help the Steelers get JPJr at 32.

Nope. Levis is toast for R1 unless Saints pick him up. Carr is not best option. No one else needs QB.
Someone can trade up like when the Ravens did for Lamar BUT I'm hoping he does so the Steelers can field calls for 20 hours
So the Steelers will have all night to think about their options which include:
- Trading down. (Could get nice return for a team that passed on Levis but would still like to develop him into their future QB)
- JP Jr
- Keion White, big edge DL from GA Tech
- The Pitt boys will cry if they take Levis.....
- A Tomlin surprise!!

Porter or Branch make a ton of sense
Feel bad for Porter. Don't think he saw this coming at all.
I'd like to see them just trade down a few spots if they feel they can and still get JP Jr, to a team than wants Levis, and get a late 3rd or a 4th to do it.
I dont think you move down from 32 with Branch and Porter there. I think you move down from 49
Steelers play mostly zone, which suits Joey better IMO (fewer hands on penalties) and he'll have a chip on his shoulder after slipping past the 1st round.
Not to mention fulfilling his dad's legacy.

Steelers do not play mostly zone. They played man more than all but about 5 teams last year. They used to be primary zone
See it's these comments that make you sound bitter. Kids fall. Is no one going to trade up for trash Porter or is he, like Levis, just value now? Simple concept
I think Richardson and Levis are both gambles @ QB. The Colts picked their poison and the pressure is on for Richardson to start and produce in the NFL. Not sure he's up to it based on his lone season as a starter.
I think all 4 were gambles. I also wouldn't be shocked if Hendon Hooker ends up being the best of the 5
I thought Hooker was the 2nd or 3rd best QB. The injury obviously gave teams pause. Now he can go to a team that can perhaps play him behind a veteran QB and let him grow into eventually starting. Hooker has geat potential. Young is so slight of build I would have concerns about his sustainabilitty, though no conerns aboout his QB IQ and abiliity to make accurate reads/passes. Is Stroud a product of having uber talented WRs and oustanding bookend tackles round him that allowed him to rarely play under pressure? He certainly can make all the throws, has surprising mobility and good size. The OSU QBs have struggled in the NFL. Maybe he will do better.
Yes indeed. The Steelers are in the cat bird seat. Lots of teams will be interested in Levis as a second round pick. A lot of teams need a QB and the money is now much less than a top ten pick. Worth the risk. Maybe the Jets and give him two years to develop as Rogers finishes his career.
Some teams may also be willing to trade to get Porter. Top corners are critic these days. Personally, I would move him to strong safety as there are few corners that tall. He has trouble covering the quick shifty types and the NFL is full of them. That’s a reason why he had so many Pi calls. At safety he can cover both sides of the field, rotate to receivers he can cover, and use his height to pick off pass.
Either way, the phones will be ringing like crazy. Tremendous luck and opportunity for the Steelers. Will be interesting to see how Kahn succeeds.
I don't see the Steelers trading down very far if they do trade out of #32. The Jets are at #43. The Steelers may have 3 or 4 players they really like with their next pick and could trade down to 34-37 and still get one of the players they would be very happy with. Porter, White (about the only top player that could potentially be a star at DE in their 3-4 defense), Benton (big DT from Wisconsin).
There seem to be a good many high rated CB's and WR's left that they could get at #49 which is why I believe they may surprise us and take a DT or DE. But they'll have to answer to JP Senior if they do!!!!
Steelers out to pass on JP Jr. and take Levis. The Steelers need a decent QB more than then need help in the secondary.
There would be multiple cardiac events on the Lair if they push Kenny Heisman to the bench..........
If they take Levis after a year of the Pitt guy it would cause such a 💩storm……..never gonna happen.
So you believe that Levis is a better qb than Pickett? I believed that the Steelers shouldn't have drafted Pickett, but I'm beginning to change my mind; he had a pretty good end to the season last year.
Other than maybe run the ball like a running back, there is no qb skill that Levis does better than Pickett.
