NFL is unwatchable

The kickoff thing is utterly, utterly ridiculous crap but at least I don't have to WATCH Tom Brady play anymore
I don't know why they even have kickoffs anymore. I get that the game needs some kind of bang to start. The NBA has the tipoff, the NHL drops the puck, and nobody wants to emulate MLB. Maybe they should do like Australia does and bounce the ball to see who recovers. Eliminate the coin flip.

Script was lost!
In all seriousness, one correctly officiated game doesn't change the fact that the officiating in the previous two Super Bowls, especially against SF, was absolutely dog**** and obviously one-sided. That holding call against Philly two years ago was just ticky tack and SF got shafted on more calls than I can count

That doesn't necessarily mean conspiracy but it does taint both kc championships in my book.

I also don't think biased officiating is the same as "fixed". I think it is entirely possible, probable in fact, that refs get intimidated by the champions.

Probably the most visible case in point was Muhammad Ali. In his later years, diminished physically, he'd fight to try and be upright at the end. Then he'd get the decision. The quote was coined, and is still used today "you've got to knock out the champ!". In other words, you aren't going to get the calls when you are playing the defending champion. It is that way in basketball (Jordan Rules), Hockey or baseball. In fact, there are videos of umpires calling strikes for Greg Maddux before the ball crossed the plate. And we see how tOSU and UM games are called.

That's a great analogy, actually. I don't remember off hand which fights Kenny Norton definitely won with Ali but I remember he got screwed out of some. Of course boxing judging was notorious

JMO I think the set up for the kickoff looks stupid but I don't think it's really been a factor at all in how returns impact games. Negatively or positively.

The KC vs Houston game had bad calls go KC''s way. The bs running around by Mahomes then quickly ducks down to get a bs roughing call or whatever. At least one suspect late hit call bailed KC out. They were lucky to get to the SB and finally a team just handed their a$$ to them.
