That's because all the teams with the first round byes are playing this week, and not lousy division winners that you get first round. Shows the overall importance of getting the bye.
 
Shows why expanding playoffs wasn't such a good idea except for the TV $$$.
Not sure I follow. It seems to me that the opposite would be the case. If the playoffs weren't expanded, all four of the first round losers would be playing the top 4; obviously not the better teams to do so. Unless you are suggesting that both of the first two rounds aren't needed - are you? While we would end up with the same 4 this year if that were the case, there is the possibility that some pretty good teams wouldn't get the chance to win it all.
 
Look at the QBs of the teams that won last week. Other than Alex Smith they have all won a Super Bowl. That is a big reason why you had 4 road upsets. The home QBs were Cousins, Bridgewater, McCarron, and Hoyer.

And I really shouldn't say "upset."
