These new NDs cost $50k, incredible for a ready to race approved spec car.

To escape from the shiz I have been watching car and racing vids.
I loved the doc “SENNA” (what an incredible talent) tragedy .

I have also been watching:
- Repair vids for Honda S2000’s
- “Petrolicious”
- Leno’s Garage
- Video blog of a kid from South Africa “Jethro Bronner” he’s rebuilding an Alfa Romeo Spider. The kid’s incredible and very entertaining
- Hagerty’s Redline Rebuilds & Barn Find Hunter.

Does anyone have recommendations to share that may be a pleasant escape?

Doug Demuro on YouTube. He is a bit quirky but he reviews some really cool cars. His comment section is hilarious.

Vehicle Virgins on YouTube Not quirky like Demuro but still good.

Old Top Gear episodes.

I, too, loved Senna ... a champion like no other

as far as motoring flicks... hours melt away when watching vintage rally car vids... little time at all has you convinced these are the best drivers in the world

plenty of Code Brown moments

I've actually been watching much of the same. Try muscle car of the week. A lot of great and sometimes rare and forgotten cars. I'm a sucker for 1960' s big Fords with 427s.

The documentary 1, as in Formula 1, seems great. I'm about 30 minutes in. Just got sidetracked a little tonight.

Can't beat Burl Ives narrating some early 60s footage at Monaco:

The movie 'Grand Prix' blew me away (the race footage):

papadakisracing YouTube

Am not into drifting or JDM. The story of Papadakis is awesome and his story from laughed at drag racer to one of the top (if not the top drift tuner) is remarkable. His vids are short and exceptional well done.

Watching full F1 races from the 80’s and 90’s on YouTube is outstanding especially with Murray Walker and James Hunt at the mic. My god were there some talented drivers and very exciting racing. Bring back those regs. Manual transmissions, turbos, and some ground effects. Drivers on the edge!

"Ford vs Ferrari", if you haven't seen it. It was made better for us by the fact that we'd been in Maranello and Modena last summer to see the museums. Likely the only time in my life I'll get my hands on the wheel of one or sit in one (no, I did not do the driving experience).

And I;'ll put in a second on "Grand Prix". My dad took me to see it on the big screen as a kid.

i hear ya, Bro.... Murray Walker and James “Big Balls” Hunt were Genuine microphone
gold...

cars were gorgeous (not to mention , analog) back then, unlike the bloated homely pigs they’ve morphed into over the past 20yrs ...

round steering wheel... three pedals... proper gear-change lever. Bring it back.

The red 515 was his original. He did a ton of work to turn it into the green 515. Then life got in the way (kids growing up) so he sold it along with his trailer and bought a nice camping trailer. They tried that a few years but I guess it didn’t work out. So he sold that and bought the toy hauler with the faded orange (looks pink to me) Miata to get back into it. The blue car has been a project of his for years. I’m not sure if it runs or not.

Thx for sharing, the joy of this series is it’s so inexpensive. The governing body is super strict, keeping an even playing field for rich and poor. True grassroots racing. If my wife wasn’t so opposed, I’d buy a car and join in. We just retired and I can’t imagine anything more fun.

Here is a great video on the car my family member drove to victory at Le Mans for the Porsche factory. Gives great insight to the beginning of ground effects. Porsche not F1 in the World Endurance Cup developed down force a.k.a. ground effects. His name is still on the door of the car still that Chris Harris takes for a run on Porsche's test track at Weissach. This car would hit 245 mph on the Mulsanne straight at Le Mans

These Rally Fans must be some of the dumbest people on earth even the marshal's are idiots getting that close to out of control speeding race cars.

If you have an affinity for expensive toys than I would also suggest Aquaholics and The yacht Guy along with Dennison Yachting

See how the uber rich spend their money.

YouTube has so many wonderful channels. A few I enjoy:

Harry’s Garage (classic and exotic cars)
Schmee150 (exotic cars)
Mustie1 (100s of videos showing how he picks up junk and makes it run again)
Nik Rijavec (Guy builds a gorgeous log cabin almost entirely by hand. Start from the beginning. There’s very little talking but it is highly addictive!)
