Nice game for Matt tonight for the Raiders.....

Not saying this year.. obviously they have to make their decision based on the long term and they clearly see Carr as having the stuff to tak them to the top more so than MM. That's (imo) their opinion... I don't necessarily agree with it, but I can understand that thinking.

It's ponder ahead of MM that is mind boggling.

Completely agree. McGloin can just flat out manage the game better. I would think that would be a priority if either replaced Carr. It's not as if Ponder is pinch hitting with the likelihood of knocking it out of the park.

It maybe beyond your grasp, but it is possible to appreciate O'Brien for what he did for the program and at the same time admire Paterno for all he did for the football program and the University. Being grateful that BOB played a key role in getting us through the worst of the sanctions and acknowledging what a great job he did in coaching up MM (to a record senior year) and Hack to a terrific freshman season is not disrespectful to Paterno. But here you are again with a childish, name calling tantrum once again that had nothing to do with the original post. Who is the @sshole?

FLO played a "key role" in getting FLO where he wanted to be and then abusing PSU's fan base in a sorry attempt to cover his own disgraceful greed, avarice and self-dealing at the expense of his own team.....and not much else. Laughable that FLO made McGloin and A-Rob great players - utterly pitifully laughable and nothing but pure re-creationist BS by BOT-bots that like to self-congratulate and self-promote OG BOT decisions including the hiring of FLO who continually abused PSU and her fans including on the way out the door in an orchestrated low-class stunt with Douche-bag Davey Jones.

So if someone thinks O'Brien played a role in MM's improved play in his outstanding senior year they are 'BOT-bots'. Can you post without a childish rant?

Guessing they're hoping either MM or ponder gets considerable interest from somebody and they land a nice player or draft choice(s). or they just like having ponder's wife around to keep motivation up. no matter, MM is the superior QB and they know it. That said, the Raiders have the right system for him and if he gets traded, i pray it's to someone with a similar approach.

would the jets be a good fit for matt?

I think BOB was overrated personally, but what I will maintain is that the players seemed to really appreciate and respect him. Do I think he was self-interested even more that the average big headed coach? Yes. Did I think he was dishonest with his players about leaving? Yes. Do I think he was praised too much for the average offensive uptick of the team and not criticized enough for the historically bad defense? Absolutely. Did he actually inherit good talent, some of which are playing in the NFL now? Yup. Did he leave the offensive line in shambles and try to leave before these sanctions really took hold and damaged his reputation as a genius coach? Yeah, I think so. Did I find his constant contract negotiations to be distracting, self aggrandizing, and played way too loud in the media by his agent? You betcha.

But again, what I have to say simply doesn't matter because if you ask every one of those players, they sincerely love and respect the guy and that says so much more about him than I can in a message board. I think BOB's greatest worth to the school was the fact that he was able to keep most of these kids and keep them committed, he deserves respect for that.

I'm not sure, but what about the contrast between Matt, Mike Vick and Geno Smith? Matt and Mike Vick are polar opposites in terms of QB style. On the OL they have three excellent starters in Mangold, Ferguson and Giacomini. Willie Colon stuck with them and is decent. Who is their 5th?

I love MM, but Carr is a lot better. MM will be a great backup.

Carr actually has star written on him. He was pretty solid last season and set several rookie records. MM had a chance last year when Carr got hurt in London and threw 3 picks.

MM played against a lot of Rams who won't sniff the NFL. Carr played against a pretty good Rans D and did well. He and Cooper are going to be s good tandom.
Sorry but I disagree with your assesment. Completing 10 of 11 against any competition is hard to do and a fine achievement. Be proud of one of our guys...don't belittle the moment. All this guy has done since HS is silence the doubters...we all can learn a lesson from his resolve.

Ram, you nailed it. Count me as anti-OB, the most self-serving coach I ever saw and that's saying something cause there have been alot over the years, but the players loved him, go figure.
